Warning: contains spoilers for Hellhunters #4!

Ghost Rider’s trademark motorcycle is definitely sick, but Marvel just gave him an even better ride. As Ghost Rider’s mythos has evolved over the past 50-plus years, he has used a number of wild vehicles in his quest against the forces of evil. Now, in the darkest part of World War II, that era’s Ghost Rider has just unveiled his sickest rides to date, as seen in Hellhunters #4.

Hellhunters #4 is written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and drawn by Adam Gorham. A rag-tag group of soldiers, including Sgt. Nick Fury, Bucky, a pre-Weapon X Wolverine and Peggy Carter. Also on the team is Sgt. Sal Romero, the Ghost Rider of this era. As the team fights their way through hordes of undead monsters and Nazis, Ghost Rider unleashes two impressive new rides: the first, a flaming tank, through which he and Bucky slaughter Nazis.

Later, at the end of the issue, Ghost Rider has “charged” up an airplane, flying the flaming vehicle towards the monsters.

Ghost Rider Has Used Everything From Motorcycles to Tanks as Rides

When Ghost Rider first appeared at the dawn of the 1970s, he was unlike other Marvel characters. Taking advantage of a recent loosening of the Comics Code Authority, which had previously prohibited ghosts, vampires, zombies and other such creatures, Ghost Rider was the vanguard of Marvel’s “monsters,” a movement that would soon give fans the Werewolf, the Living Mummy as well as introduce Dracula to its universe. Ghost Rider was unique in that he was a demon who fought evil, all while riding a flaming motorcycle. The motorcycle has been the vehicle of choice for most modern Ghost Riders.

The plane did not appear until the end of the issue, but was still an impressive, and fear-inspiring, sight. The series still has issues to go, meaning fans could see Romero transform still more vehicles.
