[#item_full_content] [[{“value”:”Absolutely over the moon for my fellow Leither, Ruaridh Mollica, whose life has no doubt changed forever now he has become a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – he’s Tommy Maximoff (Speed) in the Disney+ series, VisionQuest.
Just a year ago I was chairing the Edinburgh launch of his breakthrough film, Sebastian, at the Cameo Cinema, for Peccadillo Pictures. A few months later I was watching his West End stage debut in Clarkston, at London’s Trafalgar Theatre.
Both demonstrated just what an incredible talent the Broughton High School and Strange Town Youth Theatre boy is.
As I wrote in my review of Clarkston: ‘Mollica doesn’t so much live and breathe his role as inhabit it with passionate conviction. It’s an outstanding, beautifully pitched performance that makes the play more than it should be and marks him as one to watch.’
From the sheer weight of red carpet social media around VisionQuest right now, great things lie ahead for Ruaridh.
