Daredevil star Charlie Cox confirms what his personal Marvel Cinematic Universe dream team looks like.
Per ScreenRant, Cox discussed his ideal MCU team-up during a panel appearance at Rose City Comic-Con. When asked how he would feel about a Team Red team-up consisting of Daredevil, Spider-Man, and Deadpool, Cox responded that he would “have to check” his schedule. When asked who he would want to team-up with in particular, however, Cox was more forthcoming, replying with, “There is a character with some great comics history, and I got one scene with them, but I’d love a Daredevil and Punisher movie.”
Daredevil Just Gave Up His Newest Calling In Order to Return to His Roots
Matt Murdock just rededicated himself to being Daredevil by giving up the other life he has spent so much effort building for himself.
Cox first appeared as Matt Murdock, better known as Daredevil, in the hit 2015 Netflix series of the same name. Cox portrayed the Man Without Fear throughout Dardevil‘s entire run, as well as in his appearances in the Netflix crossover series The Defenders. Cox reprised the role for 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, as well as 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and 2024’s Echo. Fans recently got their first look at Cox’s new Daredevil suit courtesy of a celebratory compilation video released by Marvel Studios in recognition of Marvel’s 85th anniversary as a company.
Cox was recently asked about the creative overhaul that took place on the set of Daredevil: Born Again, which underwent various shakeups amidst changing showrunners and other behind-the-scenes issues. Regarding the rumors that have cropped up around Daredevil: Born Again‘s development, Cox explained, “I’ve read online how that information has been received, and the truth of the matter is it was a lot more complicated than that. A lot of the material that we shot pre-strike is brilliant and is still in the show and works really well. There were just some complicated factors around what we had been tasked to do and what we were discovering was and wasn’t working.”
A Guide to Reading Daredevil Comics Before Watching Born Again
New information from Daredevil: Born Again’s set has teased new characters and comic storylines for fans excited about the Disney+ series to explore.
Among the other unexpected changes that Daredevil: Born Again has made throughout its development is the impact that the original Netflix series and its fellow Defenders line of shows will have on its story. Returning MCU star and Hollywood icon Vincent D’Onofrio noted back in May that the way in which those past series tie into the story of Daredevil: Born Again “originally wasn’t going to be at all, but now it’s a lot.” This gave fans some concrete evidence that prior reports about how far Disney and Marvel Studios wanted to distance themselves from Netflix’s take on the property were genuine.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in March 2025.
