A Marvel Studios boss has confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will feature one of the MCU‘s most terrifying villains at New York Comic Con. Daredevil: Born Again is one of the MCU’s most anticipated series as it reintroduces Daredevil to the main MCU timeline in what is functionally a soft reboot of his story in 2015’s Daredevil. It was revealed at NYCC that Daredevil: Born Again will be released on March 4, 2025, with season 1 consisting of 9 episodes.

The Marvel Fanfare panel hosted by C.B. Cebulski also confirmed that Muse will be a villain in Daredevil: Born Again, according to producer Sana Amanat. Amanat divulged the information alongside several figures involved in the show, including Charles Soule, Steve McNiven, Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox, and Daredevil creator Frank Miller. This confirms suspicions after set photos and exclusive footage shown at D23 2024 sowed seeds of the R-rated villain’s involvement.

“Muse will be in the show, in Daredevil: Born Again.”

What Muse Means For Daredevil: Born Again

Muse Indicates That Daredevil Will Be Just As R-Rated As Before

Muse is one of Marvel’s most unsettling villains. The graffiti artist has a habit of using human blood, organs, and bodies to create his grotesque street art, which is often a perverse glorification of Marvel’s vigilantes and the violence they inflict. Muse’s involvement is a sign that Daredevil: Born Again will be just as R-rated as Daredevil’s first series, backing up claims from the Marvel Studios Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum, that the show will evoke Game of Thrones.

Winderbaum’s
Game of Thrones
comparison also likened
Daredevil: Born Again
to its political intrigue.

Muse also has deep ties to the arc in which Kingpin ascends to the position of Mayor. His gory glorification of violent vigilantes like Punisher empowers Wilson Fisk to enact his anti-vigilante laws in the city, suggesting that Daredevil: Born Again will be adapting this story after all. He should also be a significant foil to Daredevil as his sheer psychopathy and ability to remain imperceptible raises him to become one of New York’s most threatening street-level villains.

Our Take On Muse Being In Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again Is Going To Be A Rare Street-Level Outing

Winderbaum’s claims that Daredevil: Born Again will resemble Game of Thrones is an exciting indication of the show’s quality. The Marvel Studios boss’s confidence that the show will be of a similar quality to one of the most successful TV shows ever made is promising. Confirmation that one of Marvel’s most morbid villains will feature bolsters this suggestion, and makes me even more excited.

While other New York-based heroes like Doctor Strange and Spider-Man are distinctly concerned with cosmic and multiversal threats,
Daredevil: Born Again
looks as though it will be an increasingly rare example of a down-to-earth Marvel Comics adaptation.

It’s also heartening to see a distinctly street-level villain in an MCU project. While other New York-based heroes like Doctor Strange and Spider-Man are distinctly concerned with cosmic and multiversal threats, Daredevil: Born Again looks as though it will be an increasingly rare example of a down-to-earth Marvel Comics adaptation. The wait is now on to see which actor Marvel Studios will cast in this macabre role, and whether Muse will join the ranks of the MCU’s most compelling villains.
