Summary
Galacta’s ability to trace the history & the future of other characters indicates that Galactus may also possess this power, shedding light on how exactly his vast knowledge of space and time works.
Galactus’ universal awareness is his greatest asset, surpassing even the Power Cosmic and his massive appetite as the “Devourer of Worlds.”
Ever since his first appearance, Galactus has been known as one of Marvel Comics’ most iconic and most powerful figures. As the Devourer of Worlds, Galan of Taa has a primal place within the House of Ideas’ cosmology, and with that station comes a certain level of cosmic awareness – something his daughter, Galacta, elucidated for readers in her lone solo title.
Galacta: Daughter of Galactus #1 – written by Adam Warren, with art by Hector Sevilla Lujan – finds the Devourer’s titular daughter moving throughout the Marvel Universe and encountering true Marvel legends.
Face-to-face with the Fantastic Four, Galacta speeds her perceptions to levels outside of human comprehension and says, “I can leave these snail-brained but delectable-looking mammals to their grindingly slow timescale because, finally, I’ve managed to attune my cosmic awareness to theirwordlines.” Using these “worldlines,” Galacta peers into the FF’s past and future. As a result, she clues readers into just how exactly Galactus’ omniscience really works.
Marvel Officially Confirms Galactus’ Place As Its Most Powerful Villain
There are tons of absurdly powerful villains in the Marvel Universe, but Galactus just reaffirmed why he is truly the most powerful of them all.

The notion that his abilities work on an individual and specific scale changes what fans know about Galactus…maintaining his status as a being of unfathomable might
,
while also offering a more concrete explanation of his power-set.
Based off her actions in this issue, Galacta’s connection to the Power Cosmic allows her to trace the history of both people and objects throughout time and space. In her encounter with the Four, she manages to trace Reed Richards’ own relationship with the Ultimate Nullifier, even witnessing his first encounter with the Devourer himself. Assuming that her abilities are comparable to those of her power papa, it can be assumed that Galactus himself shares this same ability, and potentially at a larger reach.
This surprising twist – the notion that his abilities work on an individual and specific scale – changes what fans know about Galactus in a unique way, maintaining his status as a being of unfathomable might, while also offering a more concrete explanation of his power-set. With access to these abilities, Galan and his daughter essentially “know” everything on a theoretical level. That being said, both Devourers still have to actively seek out the answers to which they already have access as opposed to having instant information.
For all his might, it is Galactus’ iconic universal awareness that is truly his greatest asset, even more so than just the Power Cosmic.
The Devourer Of Worlds Has Limits – But They Are Few And Far Between
Galactus’ Awareness Is His True Power
Without any doubt, Galactus is one of Marvel Comics’ trademark cosmic entities, and the farthest limits of his power have yet to be truly defined. That said, for all his might, it is Galactus’ iconic universal awareness that is truly his greatest asset, even more so than just the Power Cosmic. And it’s the Devourer of Worlds’ own daughter, Galacta, that demonstrates the illuminating truth: Marvel Comics’ Galactus truly does know everything there is to know, but not all at one time.
