If you’ve been looking forward to brawling with your friends as your favorite Marvel characters, you won’t have to wait much longer! NetEase Games and Marvel Games have officially announced that the Closed Beta will go to San Diego Comic-Con, where attendees can first glimpse the exciting new fighting game.
Marvel Rivals is a new fighting game on the horizon where you can choose your favorite hero from a pool of three different roles based on their powers. You can choose to be a Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist. You’ll get to experiment with as many heroes as you like to find which role suits you and engage in some fun but chaotic teamwork to try and be victorious while trying to all work together using your abilities successfully. You will also have access to special Team-Up abilities, which can make or break your battle!

Don’t worry if you can’t make it to SDCC. You can sign up for the Marvel Rivals closed beta test on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. To ensure the best experience, they have included cross-platform play. You never know whether you’ll be battling against someone on Xbox or PC. Having it as cross-platform unites all players and allows for a significantly broader pool of players to compete against and fight for victory.
The Closed Beta for Marvel Rivals will include everything in the Alpha test and more. Players will get to experience the brand-new iconic map TOKYO 2099: SPIDER-ISLANDS. If you forget to sign up through the form or via Steam, you can also get the chance to gain Beta access by obtaining the official Twitch Drop event, which begins at 5 PM PT / 1 AM BST / 8 PM ET on July 25 through to July 28, closing at 5 PM PT.
That’s not all. The Marvel booth will also have plenty of fun activities for attendees, some great giveaways, and an official panel that will discuss in great detail The Story, Art, and Sound of the upcoming fighter, Marvel Rivals. Additionally, there will be a special signing event at SDCC, where you can get a poster signed by the Marvel Rivals team and a special unannounced guest.
The Closed Beta for Marvel Rivals will officially open on July 23 and close on August 5, giving all San Diego Comic-Con attendees a large window to explore the game and learn about its features. Additionally, for anyone unavailable to attend San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Games will host a specific live stream on July 22 at 8 PM PT / 4 AM BST / 11 PM ET on Discord, Twitch, and YouTube, available for everyone to watch.
