Deadpool “Rolls the Dice” as Marvel’s Newest Role-Player

Deadpool is the Marvel MultiVerse Role-Playing Game‘s newest role-player.

The Merc With a Mouth’s Deadpool Role-Plays the Marvel Universe will be the RPG’s first comic one-shot adventure. Per Marvel, the book includes a comic story lead-in by Cullen Bunn (Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe), a full-fledged standalone role-playing game adventure, and new full-character profiles. Readers can play as Deadpool and his team or use their characters in a fourth-wall-breaking adventure straight out of the comics. This new Deadpool Role-Plays the Marvel Universe adventure book was created to be used along with the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game hardcover. Mike Shelfer provided art for the book, while Mike Hawthorne designed the cover.

The Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game launched in August 2023, giving players the ability to take on the roles of Marvel’s most famous Superheroes or create their own to fight some of the most dangerous Supervillains in the Marvel Universe. The RPG features the all-new d616 System, with players able to explore different corners of the multiverse. Marvel revealed in 2022 that it would release the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game core rule book and The Cataclysm of Kang adventure book.

Marvel’s The Cataclysm of Kang features six interlocking adventures that take players from the streets of the Marvel Universe into a cosmic-level event. With plenty of heroes and villains, the game has fast, simple vehicle rules, from Hydra jetpacks to the Fantasti-Car, and a seamless adventure of playable epic campaigns or individual, standalone game sessions.

Deadpool Partners With Wolverine in Weapon X-Traction

Wolverine and Deadpool will team up in the upcoming summer-long saga Weapon X-Traction, which will span across eight Marvel comic titles as backup stories. Weapon X-Traction will begin in July’s Incredible Hulk #14. Readers will incur no extra cost to sample the backup tales in the eight upcoming issues, as there will be no increase in the select issues’ pricing. Ryan North (Fantastic Four) pens the stories, with Javier Garrón (Avengers) providing art.

Marvel’s Weapon X-Traction description reads, “Weapon X-Traction kicks off when a weary Wolverine runs into a clingy Deadpool at a favorite watering hole. From this humble beginning, they embark on an epic journey of non-friendship that will carry them across the Multiverse, battling zombies and gun-wielding librarians and — of course — one another!”

Deadpool Role-Plays the Marvel Universe will arrive on July 17, 2024.
