Warning: contains spoilers for Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #7!
The Hank Pym incarnation of Ant-Man has returned to the Marvel Universe after a decade’s absence. One of the founding members of the Avengers, Pym’s arc across the ages has been a fraught one, marked by instability and violence. Now, after almost 10 years on the sidelines, Hank Pym has returned, with a brand-new look as well as weapons in Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #7.
Moon Knight: Fist of Khonhsu #7 is written by Jed MacKay and drawn by Domenico Carbone. Moon Knight and his associates are searching for a way to counter a new and highly addictive drug called Glitter. Marc realizes only Hank Pym can help, but he has not spoken with Pym in years, so he devises a scheme to get his attention: “attack” Pym’s daughter Nadia. Moon Knight’s plan works, and Pym resurfaces, wearing a white lab coat over his classic Ant-Man suit. Pym also has a powerful new weapon: nanite bullet ants.
Hank Pym, Marvel’s Size-Changing Scientist, Explained
Hank Pym’s Time as a Hero Was Marked With Tragedy
Ant-Man Hank Pym was not only a founding Avenger, but also one of the early pillars of the Marvel Universe. Introduced in Tales to Astonish #27, Pym discovered mysterious particles that allowed him to alter his size. Over the next two decades, Pym would have a variety of heroic aliases, such as Giant Man and Yellowjacket. His standing and reputation among his fellow heroes has waxed and waned over time, thanks to his bouts of mental instability, as well as creating Ultron. Finally, there was the issue of domestic violence with his then-wife Janet Van Dyne, the first Wasp.
These factors conspired to keep Hank Pym relegated to secondary status for years. There have been two other Ant-Men: Scott Lang and Eric O’Grady, all of whom use Hank’s technology. Hank Pym’s story seemingly came to an end 10 years ago, when he and his creation Ultron engaged in one final battle. The two merged together, and Hank went MIA. He made his official return in 2022’s Ant-Man miniseries, when the All-Father used magic to reconstitute Hank. Since returning, Hank has kept a low profile in the realm known as Sub-Atomica.
Ant-Man’s Awesome New Look Makes Him Look Like the Hero He Is
Despite whatever misgivings Hank Pym’s fellow heroes may have about him, there is no denying he is one of the finest scientific minds on Earth. His intellect rivals Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, and his Pym Particles are used regularly by other heroes. His methods for talking and controlling ants were revolutionary. And while Ultron is a murderous, ruthless robot, the science behind the monster is light years ahead of other roboticists in the Marvel Universe.
Now, Hank Pym makes his grand return, with a new Ant-Man outfit that harkens back to the good old days while also looking forward to his future.

The white lab coat is a cool touch, reminding fans that Hank is not only a superhero, but a world-class scientist as well. Ant-Man’s new weapons are some of his best yet: the nanite bullet ant easily knocks down Reese, Moon Knight’s vampire associate. Hank Pym’s awesome new look and weapons mark the rebirth of one of Marvel’s oldest heroes.
