The following contains major spoilers for Infinity Watch #1, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
One of Marvel’s most underrated heroes has already lost her all-powerful new role, and she only just started figuring it out.
After a brief meeting to discuss exactly what direction their team should be moving in, the heroes of Infinity Watch #1 are called into action against a near unstoppable team of alien invaders known as the Apeiron. Fortunately, the Infinity Watch aren’t alone on the battlefield, as the similarly interdimensional Avery Zavala is there to help push back the threat. While Avery is more than capable of proving himself against the Apeiron, they aren’t the only ones he has his sights set on, with none other than Colleen Wing becoming the latest victim to fall in his Multiversal crusade.

Introduced in the pages of 1974’s Marvel Premiere #19, Colleen Wing was born to Azumi Ozawa and Professor Lee Wing, who raised her in the mountains of Japan by her grandfather, Kenji, whose brutal murder drove Colleen away from home. After making her way to New York City, Colleen found a fast friend in the form of Misty Knight, with whom she would embark upon a career as a private investigator, forming Marvel’s Daughters of the Dragon. Before long, Colleen and Misty were regularly working alongside the likes of Danny Rand, better known as the Iron Fist.
In the years since, Colleen has been a prominent part of numerous storylines, including Marvel Comics’ first Civil War. In the opening story of 2024’s Incredible Hulk Annual by Derek Landy and Geoff Shaw, Colleen was herself drawn into an even more fantastical adventure after being contacted by the enigmatic Worldmind, who the Mind Stone had chosen as its original Stone-Bearer. When Worldmind was brutally murdered by Thanos, Colleen took it upon herself to claim the Mind Stone before the Mad Titan could get his hands on it, imbuing her with all its incredible power.

X-Force Just Met a Powerful New Enemy – and She Might Be More Than They Can Handle
The latest supervillain to grace the Marvel Universe is a whole new kind of horror for the mutant heroes of X-Force to face.
Along with the other Stone-Bearers of the primary Marvel Universe, Colleen helped found the latest iteration of the Infinity Watch. Unfortunately, the team had only just begun to figure out their overall mission before the threat of the Apeiron emerged. As Avery Zavala explained, these interdimensional villains murdered his fellow Stone-Bearers from his native reality, whose Infinity Stones were consumed by the Apeiron afterward. The emergence of new Stone-Bearers in the primary Marvel Universe was what drew the Apeiron to it, whereas Avery has set his sights on stealing the powers of the Infinity Watch for himself in order to recreate the home universe he lost to the very same villains.
