Thunderbolts* star Lewis Pullman recently teased Bob, who’s seen wearing scrubs in the trailer, getting a real Marvel costume. Before this, Pullman played coy about his Sentry casting in May.
Pullman brought this subject up during an interview with ComicBook.com, conveying that he “[loved] the trailer and yesterday was the first time [he] saw it really,” because when he first saw it, he was at Comic-Con and he “couldn’t really crane my neck like that, but, I think it’s great.” Without outright confirming he’ll wear the Sentry suit in the film, Pullman went on to further note, “I will say [Bob] does make his way out of those scrubs. He gets to change, and I hope he…I don’t know, it wasn’t camera, but I hope he washes them. But he does get to relieve himself of those scrubs, which, you know, is nice.“

Putting the spotlight on Thunderbolts* itself, U.S. Agent actor Wyatt Russell avowed in 2023 that Thunderbolts* is “not a straightforward Marvel movie,” professing at the time, “I think that it’s gonna be a lot of fun, but I think it will be something that hopefully Marvel fans will look at and go, ‘Oh OK, this is a little different, let’s go hard at it.’ And as far as how we are approaching it, it’s time to go to work a little bit. It’s time to make a good Marvel movie, so let’s do that and work hard at it and don’t take things for granted.”

Tying into this, Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier affirmed that he thinks there is a “very different angle that the story is taking [to the genre].” He further avowed, “It’s a very different set of characters. There’s a really strong idea of what binds them together. There’s a real desire to make something that stands on its own.” Prior to that, Schreier touched upon the movie’s novel approach to making Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Sebastian Stan Compares Thunderbolts* to Classic Jack Nicholson Film
Thunderbolts* star Sebastian Stan hypes up the MCU’s final Phase Five film with a comparison to a ’70s classic starring Jack Nicholson.
With regards to Thunderbolts*‘ uniqueness in the MCU, Red Guardian actor David Harbour touched upon how the project differs from other MCU installments at CinemaCon 2023, asserting, “I read the script. It’s real good. It’s just really good… Marvel is changing it up. They’re always surprising, but this team in particular, and what they’re doing — what this means in the universe is its own thing, that’s really interesting — but the team itself and the way the movie comes together is very different from any other Marvel movie I’ve seen.”
Besides these bits of news, Harbour delved into the asterisk, professing that it was “an idea that that someone had,” and that he understands why people might put an asterisk there. Additionally, Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier actor and MCU veteran Sebastian Stan touched upon starring in Thunderbolts*, conveying at the D23 Expo 2022 that the Thunderbolts are “[his] kinds of people,” and that they “look like a good troubled bunch,” going on to add that he’s glad to be back and join a team of some sort.
