Amid the rampant speculation surrounding the potential cast of MCU’s X-Men, a new rumor has emerged that links Breaking Bad alum Jesse Plemons to the role of Beast. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has already confirmed that the MCU will introduce the mutant arc after 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. As such, theories regarding who could portray what member of Professor Charles Xavier’s iconic superhero team have started to pick up heat. The latest update from the rumor mill suggests that Plemons could join the cast of the X-Men reboot as Dr. Hank McCoy.
As conveyed by renowned industry insider Jeff Sneider, Marvel is apparently considering recruiting the Civil War star in the upcoming retelling of X-Men as the ape-like superhero with a genius-level intellect, better known to fans as Beast.
During his recent appearance on THE HOT MIC podcast, Sneider touched down upon several topics including the next Bond, the reviews for Mickey 17, and Greta Gerwig’s Narnia project, among other things. In between the conversation, the internet scooper divulged that he had “heard a rumor for Beast.” Before dropping Jesse Plemons’ name, he also noted that he is an actor “who conveys like a certain intelligence and yet is also a bit menacing.”
Sneider has already listed several possible candidates for the cast of the X-Men reboot. Per current rumors, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink seems to be in contention for the part of Jean Grey. Meanwhile, Substance’s Margaret Qualley and The Fabelmans’ Julia Butters could land the roles of Rogue and Kitty Pryde, respectively. Additionally, Harris Dickinson of Babygirl fame is in the running to play Scott Summers, AKA Cyclops.
Despite such encouraging updates, Marvel has not shared any official word regarding the cast of the X-Men reboot to date. In fact, Kevin Feige has yet to confirm the project publicly.
