Wolverine Enters the Ultimate Universe in New Marvel Trailer: Watch

Marvel has officiallyn debuted the launch trailer for the Ultimate Universe’s new Wolverineseries, and it’s already bringing the hero’s wild brand of violence to Earth-6160 with style. Ultimate Wolverine is the next series in the reinvigorated Ultimate line, and is sure to shock readers with its bold changes. The reimagined version of Marvel’s deadliest hero is finally seen in action as he begins tearing his way through the alternate universe.

Since Marvel announced that the updated Ultimate Universe would introduce its brand-new Wolverine, the fresh take on the hero has teased several shocking twists on his classic counterpart. Working as the Winter Soldier with a sleek new red-and-black costume, the vicious living weapon rips into battle in the official Ultimate Wolverine trailer:

The upcoming series debuting in 2025 will be written by Chris Condon, and the trailer shows series artist Alessandro Cappuccio’s gorgeous work in motion. As the animalistic brawler makes his grand entrance into Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, he also brings a few more mutant heroes along for the ride.

Wolverine, Mystique, and Nightcrawler Join Earth-6160 in The Action-Packed Trailer

Though the new Wolverine has just been introduced in this new universe, the brutal Ultimate Wolverine trailer shows that he’s already capable of delivering hardcore action against the major players in Earth-6160. In just a short tease of what’s to come in the series, the Winter Soldier version of Wolverine might already prove himself as one of the hero’s coolest variants ever. Beginning as a weapon for The Maker’s Council, including the evil Reed Richards, Colossus, Omega Red, and Magik, the trailer already shows him going toe-to-toe with Piotr as the metallic mutant tests the limits of Wolverine’s healing factor.

Early solicitations already tease that the Ultimate Wolverine will be used to hunt mutants, with one of his first missions being to go up against the mutant liberation group called The Opposition. The trailer seems to show the first look at who The Opposition is made up of, with a militarized Mystique and Nightcrawler as a priest making an appearance against the Winter Soldier-ized Wolverine. Along with Peach Momoko’s Ultimate X-Men, Condon and Cappuccio’s new Ultimate Wolverine series will introduce more mutants to the Ultimate Universe and possibly reveal what The Maker might have in store for them moving forward.

Marvel’s Mysterious New Wolverine/Winter Soldier Hybrid Slices Into the Ultimate Universe

Though the Ultimate Wolverine pulls from the classic character and the Winter Soldier, his identity is still unknown before the book makes its debut. Theories are swirling that Bucky Barnes, Wade Wilson, or another established Marvel character could be under the muzzled mask instead of Logan, especially since the original Wolverine’s death was possibly teased in the Free Comic Book Day 2024: Ultimate Universe/Spider-Man special. Nevertheless, as he slices and dices through henchmen and villains alike in the new Ultimate Wolverine trailer, this new incarnation of Wolverine is set to be one of the universe’s most powerful heroes yet.

Whether it’s a well-known figure, an all-new character, or some sort of Logan clone acting as the Ultimate version of the hero, the trailer for the new series shows that this iteration is still an untamed beast that will definitely bring the old-school Wolverine action. Cappuccio’s art of the new iteration is highlighted in the trailer and strongly delivers on the character’s animal senses, powerful healing factor, and his iconic claws. As the new Wolverine is finally seen being unleashed upon the Ultimate Universe in all his violent glory, Earth-6160 gains a legendary new threat.
