When Logan gets into trouble, he doesn’t do it by halves. Since the beginning, his current solo series has been stacking up issues for the Ol’ Canucklehead, right and left. However, a preview for Wolverine #6 ironically complicates things by bringing in Laura Kinney, aka X-23, or the other Wolverine. Normally the two of them together means big trouble for other people. In this case, however, it is a big problem for the elder hero.

Written by Saladin Ahmed, with art by Martín Cóccolo, Wolverine #6 finds Logan with his claws full. The previous issues found Logan trying to help a newly transformed Wendigo tame the beast within. That was challenge enough, without an old enemy like Cyber trying to kill him too.

However, that was just the start of Logan’s troubles. Even with Nightcrawler on hand, ready to help, things are a-might complicated for the old Mutant. And the sudden appearance of Laura doesn’t do anything to lessen Logan’s load.

The main cover and first five pages of Wolverine #6 may be viewed below.

One of the key mysteries of the current Wolverine series centered around an ancient evil with a connection to Logan. This evil was ultimately revealed as Adamantine, the legendary metal which inspired the creation of Adamantium. Apparently there is an intelligence behind Adamantine. Moreover, it is out to take over anyone whose body is bonded to Adamantium, which it sees as a “false metal.”

The Adamantine is apparently what took control of Cyber. It has also taken over Lady Deathstrike and the Constrictor. While Logan has resisted the pull of the Adamantine so far, it is a close thing. Facing his daughter, who seems to have been taken over as well, may push him over the edge.

Wolverine #6 arrives in comic shops everywhere on February 5, 2025.
