Kevin Feige recently mentioned that Miles Morales will eventually make his live-action debut within the MCU only once the third Spider-Verse movie is done.

This leads to the question though, will he make an appearance (if only briefly) in the fourth installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man?

I mean, the facts line up. The man himself has confirmed that Morales will enter the MCU so this also raises the question of; how far ahead has this been thought about?

If Feige is able to publicly admit that then surely they already have plans in motion because we all know how far ahead Marvel does plan. I do believe this is the right move though, for 2 reasons.

1. Sony is just messing their entire universe up at the moment

Sony has had a rough time at the box office regarding their projects. 2 out of the 3 Venom movies haven’t been great, Morbius and Madame Webb are 2 others that were failures from the get-go. It doesn’t seem as though Kraven will do much better here. I said within my Venom 3 review that it’s time for Sony to pass this franchise back to Marvel so they can use it properly.

Don’t get me wrong, Sony does a phenomenal job with their animated Spider-Verse films and this is where predominantly their movie success comes from in the superhero world. They can’t sustain that forever though, eventually, people will want to see Miles Morales in a live-action setting as he is the most popular Spider-Man behind Peter Parker.

2. Miles deserves to be in the MCU

To be fair, Miles is a fairly new character in the superhero world. He was only created 13 years ago in 2011. This is a feat in itself if I’m being honest due to how fast his popularity has risen within those years. We’ve had 8 Peter Parker films in total. 3 with Tobey Maguire, 2 with Andrew Garfield, and 3 with Tom Holland. That’s a lot of Peter Parker and we’re set to get a 9th with only a mere mention that Miles does exist in MCU as per the conversation with Miles’ Uncle in Homecoming.

When we consider the Spider-Man games on the Sony platforms, we know Miles can integrate very well within the MCU. After all, Tom Holland is 28 years old now and the rumor is that he’s signed on for another 3 films so there’s a lot of scope in there for Tom’s Peter to train Miles.

I do believe it’s time. I also hope that the announcement from Feige is more of a “we’ve got something ready to go”. Honestly, I’m just desperate to see a Miles Morales suit in live-action for the first ever time because it’ll be one hell of a moment once he suits up.

Spider-Man 4 will be the perfect opportunity to cast and cameo the character. Even if it’s an after-credits scene of him about to be bitten or something else. Let Peter Parker deal with whatever villain there is then it would be incredible to start introducing Miles into the fold.
