Warning! Contains spoilers for Venom #31!Venom has been on one of the biggest journeys of his life in comics lately, which is why it’s all the more shocking that his final destination has ended up with him being killed. Dylan Brock never wanted to be a superhero. However, he still ended up wearing the Venom symbiote and trying to help people. Unfortunately, this brings him into Carnage‘s crosshairs, where Venom is finally killed.
Readers got to see Venom’s surprising death in Venom #31 by Torunn Gronbekk and Ken Lashley. As Carnage continues his quest to become a god, he eventually turns his attention to trying to kill Eddie Brock again, who is the new King in Black. Unfortunately, Carnage can’t seem to find Eddie, so he settles for the next best thing and attacks Dylan Brock, the Venom symbiote’s current host and Eddie’s son.
Dylan has encountered Carnage before, but this is the first time he actually tries to fight Carnage, and unfortunately, it doesn’t go well. As Carnage easily impales Dylan, it seems as though Dylan’s story is over, right up until he arrives in the Un-Beyond, with the most powerful version of Eddie Brock waiting for him.

Carnage’s bloody quest for godhood results in him killing his one last weakness, making him more of a threat than he has ever been before.
Venom Encounters Eddie Brock’s Ultimate Form
Both Dylan and Eddie have been on serious adventures over the past few years. Dylan has been growing up and trying to survive in a world without his father, only having the symbiote Venom to rely on. Meanwhile, Eddie Brock has been time-traveling trying to fix the mess he’s made of his life. This eventually led Eddie to the Un-Beyond, a place below everything else, where Eddie’s most powerful form lurks.Known as the Eventuality, this is the final version of the King in Black, a form of Eddie that can manipulate and control everything symbiote-related with ease across the multiverse.
Dylan entering the Un-Beyond could have some pretty big implications. It’s possible he could become the next King in Black, or even become something more. The upcoming Venom War event will feature a conflict between Eddie and Dylan, so it’s likely that Dylan will be coming back to life. But how he returns isn’t currently clear. Eddie Brock “died” at the start of this comic run, but he’s been able to project his mind into any symbiote he comes across, allowing him to survive. It’s possible Dylan will learn to do the same thing.
Carnage has always been one of Venom’s most dangerous enemies, and he’s slaughtered countless people, heroes, and even gods. Dylan Brock isn’t just another victim in the long list of people that Carnage has killed, as his death may just have given Dylan the biggest power boost of his life. By entering the Un-Beyond, Dylan will be able to view everything across the multiverse, and can finally talk with a version of his father who has all the answers. So, while Venom may be dead at the hands of Carnage for now, he’s certainly not going to stay that way for long.
