New year, new comics. And we’re counting 14 of the must-buy Marvel Comics hitting in January 2025.
…Which in some cases means today, as new comics are in stores despite it being New Year’s Day. Weird! Regardless, there’s lots to look forward to this month from both mainline Marvel Comics and the Ultimate Universe. Plus, a few specials, big issue debuts, and even looks back at iconic runs from the past.
Consider this your checklist for what to add to your comic book haul from Marvel for the first month of 2025, listed below in chronological release order. And read on for more!

This title has been a banger from issue one, and this month’s book brings on the Ultimate Guardians of the Galaxy, who seem weird, interesting, and mean big things for America Chavez.

Sure this is clearly a tee-up for the upcoming MCU movie, but with Greg Pak and Evan Narcisse writing, and Eder Massias on art, there’s every chance this is going to be a thoughtful and action-packed miniseries.

Beyond all reason, Jed MacKay has somehow found a way to add Black Cat — his clear fave — onto The Avengers. Every BC book MacKay writes is killer, though, so this should be a good one.
