The Predator franchise has had a major resurgence in the 2020s thanks to Dan Trachtenberg’s critically-acclaimed Prey. The director will be back for Predator: Badlands this year, the first theatrically released entry in the franchise since 2018. The first teaser, released earlier this week, gave fans a glimpse of a film they’ve always dreamed of: a Predator film set in space. However, before the Yautja tackle an epic space odyssey, the franchise will be returning to the Marvel universe in the crossover Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. Now, fans have gotten their first preview of the comic before its summer release.

Revealed exclusively by IGN, Predator Kills the Marvel Universe will see Predator vs. Wolverine and Predator vs. Spider-Man writer Benjamin Percy and artist Marcelo Ferreira return to finish their vs. saga. The story follows the Predators after they take over Wakanda’s vibranium and turn Earth into a hunting preserve. The Predator King starts slaughtering some of Marvel’s most iconic heroes and villains. It’s expected to be a massacre, with the book having a high body count. When talking to IGN, Percy teased the killing spree, saying:

“Over the past few years, I’ve been having the time of my life writing the Predator Vs. series. The Yautja have hunted Wolverine across the decades. They’ve battled Black Panther and plundered Wakanda of its vibranium. And they’ve faced off against Spider-Man and Kraven during a blackout heat wave in New York. These stories have been patiently building toward something epic. Their interconnectedness will be revealed in this explosive, blood-drenched, five-part story.”

He would continue, “That title? It’s not misdirection. This one’s gonna hurt. Your favorite heroes and villains will fall – even as others rise up against this extinction-level event. The Predator King is here – the Yautja are armed with vibranium – and Earth is now a hunting preserve.” That famous Marvel tech will be giving the Predators a major upgrade with Percy teasing, “The playing field has not only been leveled – it’s tipped in the favor of the Yautja. I can’t tell you everything, because Predator vs. Spider-Man hasn’t released yet, but something game-changing happens at the end of it that will make people drop their jaws.” He finished by stating:

“But here’s something you’ve already clocked, if you’ve been following along. In Predator vs. Black Panther (which is now available as a graphic novel collection), the Yautja raided the Wakandan mines. We all know how obsessed they are with tech and weaponry, so just imagine what they can do with the motherlode of what they refer to as ‘godmetal.'”

Predator hasn’t been the only one tearing its way through the Marvel Universe. This year has also seen a slew of Marvel one-shots that had characters like The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Thor, and The Avengers taking on Godzilla. That’s all culminating this summer with Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe. Crossover comics have been the lifeblood of DC and Marvel for the last three-plus decades. Who could forget the time Batman took on Predator in the ’90s? Marvel will be taking on the Predator franchise after the Xenomorphs ripped them apart in their Alien crossover last year. That’s fitting since there have been more than a few hints that Predator and Alien will be crossing over in Badlands for the first time since 2007’s Alien vs. Predator – Requiem. Whether you’re a hardcore horror, Predator or Marvel fan, it’s a great time to be a comic reader and an avid movie watcher.

When Does ‘Predator Kills the Marvel Universe’ Release?

Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1 will hit comic store shelves on August 13, 2025. That’s ahead of Predator: Badlands, which battles its way to theaters on November 7, 2025. The first issue’s cover was done by Leinil Yu and sees a Predator on top of a body pile. An ill-fated scene that includes The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Daredevil. Percy claims, “Every character is on the chopping block. No one’s safe. No one. The brutal and bloody first issue makes that immediately clear. We’re not holding back, so armor up.”
