Contains Spoilers for Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time #1!Marvel is about to introduce an updated version of the deadliest incarnation of the Hulk, and it seems as though only a new Deadpool has what ti takes to halt “Worldbreaker” Hulk in his tracks this time. It might be up to the last hero anyone expected to save the entire Marvel Universe from one of the few threats that actually got close to defeating every superhero.
In Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time #1, written by Cullen Bunn with art by Dalibor Talajić, readers are introduced to an alternate universe version of the Worldbreaker Hulk, the green goliath’s strongest form, and judging by his fate, this version might be sticking around.
In the issue, this universe-killing Deadpool is recruited by new character Alphie to kill supervillains across reality. This includes the Worldbreaker. However, unlike the other villains murdered this issue, Worldbreaker Hulk is teleported away, meaning that he’s still out there for Deadpool to face.
Marvel’s Most Dangerous Hulk Form Is Back To Fight Against The Multiverse’s Deadliest Deadpool
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time #1; Written By Cullen Bunn; Art By Dalibor Talajić; Available Now From Marvel Comics
First introduced in Bunn and Talajić’s Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again miniseries, the Deadpool of this story was brainwashed into killing his universe’s superheroes, leaving him all-but-broken and wallowing in guilt and pain. Now, he’s been given a mission, and a chance to do some kind of good in the Multiverse, even if he would never admit that he actually cares about anything. On paper, committing more murders doesn’t seem like the best form of therapy, but for Deadpool, considering this is the Merc With a Mouth, maybe it will do him some actual good.
This Deadpool is distinct from the Deadpool of Bunn and Talajić’s original Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, who decided that because his world is fictional it was ‘mercy’ to kill everyone.
Worldbreaker Hulk meanwhile, is another planet-killing threat in his own right. In Planet Hulk, written by Greg Pak with art by Carlo Pagulayan and Aaron Lopresti, Hulk is shot into space by the Illuminati, unintentionally crash-landing on the planet of Sakaar, where he becomes a gladiator. Eventually, Hulk overthrows Sakaar’s government and makes a life for himself as its ruler, only for his original spaceship to explode, killing Hulk’s wife Caiera. Hulk absorbs the energy from this explosion, and now madder and stronger than ever, heads to Earth for revenge as the Worldbreaker.
Planetbreaker Hulk Came Close To Defeating The Entire Marvel Universe
Deadpool Has His Work Cut Out For Him
Worldbreaker Hulk’s arrival back on Earth led directly to Greg Pak and artist John Romita Jr.’s World War Hulk, in which this new incarnation of Hulk proves that he’s the strongest there is. The World-Breaker tears a path of destruction through Earth’s heroes, defeating Black Bolt, the X-Men and multiple Avengers teams, and is only matched by Sentry, who forces Hulk to a stalemate. At this point Hulk reverts to Bruce Banner and is finally stopped by Tony Stark’s anti-Hulk tech, but he got incredibly close to winning against every superhero and conquering the entire world.

World War Hulk changed the trajectory of the Green Goliath forever, but can the MCU successfully adapt its story after Infinity War and Endgame?
However, there are realities where this event didn’t go so well for the heroes. The first of these is What If? World War Hulk #1. In the story written by Mike Raicht with art by Lucio Parrillo, Tony Stark accidently kills several heroes during World War Hulk, setting off a series of events culminating in Hulk, the last hero left, begging Galactus to destroy a Skrull-controlled Earth after a version of Secret Invasion, which the devourer grants in exchange for Hulk becoming his herald; however, readers haven’t seen a reality where Hulk straight-up won, until this latest Deadpool tale.
Worldbreaker Hulk Survived His First Encounter With Deadpool; Why And How Remains A Mystery
The Main Marvel Universe Might Be In Danger
One big question coming out of Deadpool Kills #1 is who saved the Hulk from Deadpool. Hulk’s teleport looks an awful lot like the same one used by Alphie, but she pleads ignorance, and besides, she was the one who asked Deadpool to kill Hulk in the first place. Maybe it’s just a case of Talajić using the same effect to give a continuity when it comes to teleport effects. Wade also calls out the moment as a “deus ex machina,” and while this is a joke on his part, it’d be ironic if it turned out that there was some kind of God involved.
Worldbreaker Hulk could still be aimed at the classic Marvel Universe, which would dramatically raise the stakes for Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time moving forward.
The ending of the issue also gives a hint as to why Hulk was saved. After the battle with Hulk damages Deadpool’s ‘reality-slider’, he ends up in the mainstream Marvel Universe, Earth-616, where Alphie explains that Wade’s supposed tosave this reality, so he can’t kill anyone. If what Wade’s doing is eliminating threats to Earth-616, then Hulk being saved means that Worldbreaker Hulk could still be aimed at the classic Marvel Universe, which would dramatically raise the stakes for Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time moving forward.
Fans Want To Know How Deadpool Could Take Down Worldbreaker Hull
Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe One Last Time #2; Available May 7, 2025 From Marvel Comics
If this Deadpool is going to face down the Worldbreaker for the fate of the mainstream Marvel Universe, then he is going to have to push himself to his heroic limits. Deadpool only survives the first encounter with the Worldbreaker thanks to the Hulk’s disappearance, but maybe he’ll have a chance to prepare before their next fight. After all, it’s his cunning that let him kill all his Earth’s heroes. The most ironic outcome. however, would be if this Deadpool is forced to seek help from those very same heroes to stop the one version of the Hulk that even he can’t defeat on his own.
