Summary
Brie Larson is finally allowed to promote The Marvels now that the actors’ strike is over, and the actress hasn’t wasted any time by inviting people on social media to go see the latest movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After 118 days of strike and a long negotiation that seemed to never end, AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA have finally reached an agreement and the paralyzed productions are returning to work to avoid further delays, while many casts are already preparing to promote their films that will be released in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, The Marvels hit theaters on Friday, the same week that the strike ended, so none of its stars were able to do interviews or be present at the premieres that were held before the debut.
But now that the conflict between the studios and the actors’ union is resolved, Brie Larson took over her social media and shared content related to the film. The actress published an image of herself wearing the Captain Marvel costume, along with a behind-the-scenes video from the movie directed by Nia DaCosta:
In The Marvels, Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau suffer an accident while investigating an anomaly in space, and they switch places with each other and with Ms. Marvel, since her bracelet is connected to the anomaly. Every time they use their powers they switch again, so they must work together to find out what is happening and stop a new villain who seeks revenge on Carol Danvers after she destroyed the Kree empire.

Larson was not the only one of the film’s leading trio who took advantage of the end of the actors’ strike to spread the word about the release of The Marvels. Iman Vellani, who plays the charismatic Kamala Khan, had the brilliant idea of appearing at a screening of the film and surprising the fans who were watching it:
Although Ms. Marvel is far from being considered one of the great hits of Marvel Studios, Vellani’s portrayal of Khan has been highly celebrated by fans of the franchise for her freshness, spontaneity and innocence. In The Marvels she shines because of those same characteristics, especially in the scenes where Kamala can express her admiration for her to Carol. But the highlight of the character in the movie is her growth.
Captain Marvel becomes a kind of mentor for Kamala, explaining to her, for example, that sometimes she won’t be able to save everyone and will have to prioritize saving a few rather than risk losing more lives. So Kamala goes from being a lonely girl with powers that fights crime locally to learning to deal with the true responsibility of being a hero.
