The Avengers are Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and often stand at the forefront of the most climactic battles in the universe. The Avengers are heroes through and through, so they put up with a lot from the heroes they work with. Many of them aren’t exactly favorites of the Avengers.
Heroes like Deadpool have joined the Avengers, but some Avengers wish he hadn’t. Namor is often ruthless, putting the needs of his people before the needs of the world, while Professor Xavier has broken many ethical and moral codes to ensure mutant prosperity. The Avengers welcome all heroes, but Deadpool and several others certainly push the Avengers to their breaking points.

10 Cyclops
Cyclops is the mutant Captain America – he’s an amazing leader and combatant who has brought his people through the worst situations. Cyclops is all about mutant rights and fighting for his people. The Avengers, on the other hand, don’t really care very much about the plight of mutants despite having several mutant members, so Cyclops and the Avengers don’t really get along.
Cyclops and the Avengers have a lot of bad blood between them. The Avengers and the X-Men have fought many times and nearly every time Cyclops was in command. Cyclops has no problem calling out the Avengers’ hypocrisy, which is one reason they can’t stand him. The other reason is he has no problem slapping them around.
9 Professor X
Professor X is the greatest booster of the mutant race, and the Avengers are no friends of mutantkind. Professor X’s place in the Illuminati also doesn’t help the way the Avengers look at him. The Avengers can forgive someone like Iron Man or Doctor Strange, because they’re Avengers; Xavier isn’t, so it’s easier for the Avengers to hold him to task.
The Krakoa Era hasn’t helped things either. Professor X and Magneto basically lorded over everyone during the beginning of Krakoa’s early days. Professor X has a superior air and the Avengers just don’t like that. They don’t have the familial relationship that the X-Men have with Professor X, so the Avengers don’t forgive him as much as his former students.
8 Superior Spider-Man
Doctor Octopus taking over Peter Parker’s body saw him pick up Spider-Man’s responsibilities, which included joining the early days of the Avengers Machine – the biggest and most powerful group of Avengers. One day, Spider-Man was his normal, joking self. The next day, he came back and suddenly was vain and self-serious. The Superior Spider-Man wasn’t exactly a joy to be around.
There were some memorable times, like when Cannonball and Sunspot ate his lunch, where Superior Spider-Man showed just how different he was from the actual Spider-Man. No one knew what was going on with Peter, but everyone knew it was something. Some of the Avengers turned against him, resulting in Superior Spider-Man’s resignation.

7 Namor
Namor is the King of Atlantis, a mantle that has seen him both help save the Earth and attack the surface world. Namor has been an Avenger several times, but it’s impossible to say that any of those stints have been particularly happy for anyone. Namor is powerful and can take a beating, which means he always has a place with the team, but most Avengers would rather not put up with him.
The Avengers will deal with Namor because he brings a lot to the table, but it’s often not worth the effort. Namor will constantly needle everyone because that’s just how he is. Namor is arrogant and angry, but has power the Avengers need. If it wasn’t for that, they would have gladly been done with Namor ages ago.
6 The Sentry
At first, the Sentry’s power level was enough to make him a member of the New Avengers. They thought that the Void was dealt with in the early days of the team, but that wouldn’t be the case. The Sentry’s time as a member of the Dark Avengers saw Norman Osborn bring the Void back to the fore and ever since then, the Sentry has been a problem for the Avengers.
At this point, Captain America and Iron Man almost certainly regret bringing the Sentry onto the team. It’s not even like the Sentry’s amazing power level allowed him to save the Avengers multiple times; he was often just up in the Watchtower doing his own thing. The Sentry almost destroyed the Earth and just wasn’t worth the trouble.
5 USAgent
Johnny Walker is a former superpowered wrestler who got a chance to take over for Captain America. He was a complete failure, and Steve Rogers had to beat him down despite Walker actually having superpowers. Walker got a chance to be a hero again as USAgent, working with the Avengers West Coast. This was his biggest time as a hero and everything after that has been a disappointment.
USAgent is not the greatest version of Captain America, working to ensure the survival of the status quo. The Avengers may defend the Earth, but they will fight the power when they need to. USAgent won’t, which is enough for the Avengers to rather that they never had him on the team.
4 Doctor Druid
Doctor Druid’s magical powers made him a third rate Doctor Strange, despite actually being the inspiration for Strange. Druid’s time on the Avengers would have never amounted to much if it wasn’t for the manipulations of Ravonna, Kang the Conqueror’s erstwhile queen. Ravonna’s mind control helped make Druid chairman of the Avengers, and his betrayal of the team showed the mistakes they made. It cost Druid his life.
Druid is basically persona non grata with the Avengers now. Doctor Druid has come back to life since then, but he’s been very low level. Druid’s attack on the Avengers wasn’t completely his fault, but that doesn’t change how everyone feels about him.
3 D-Man
D-Man’s was a superpowered wrestler for the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation. D-Man turned against the Power Brokers and helped the Thing while the FF member was in the UCWF. D-Man worked with Captain America, donning a costume that was Wolverine’s mask mixed with Daredevil’s original costume. D-Man became a reserve Avenger, but the team didn’t exactly like when he’d come around.
This was partly down to his living situation, as D-Man didn’t have a home and often smelled very bad. The Avengers always made excuses to be somewhere else with D-Man was around. D-Man was a tough hero, but the Avengers just never liked him very much.

2 Quicksilver
The Maximoff twins’ relationships with the Avengers are quite different. Scarlet Witch is a mass murderer who has attacked the Avengers multiple times; Quicksilver is just mouthy with his teammates because his powers make them all seem glacially slow. Quicksilver is a longtime Avenger, but that doesn’t mean that most of the team liked him.
Quicksilver definitely always has a place with the team, but everyone knows he’s going to be arrogant and get sassy with them. Quicksilver really can’t help it, because of the nature of his powers, which is why the way the team feels about him is unfair. Quicksilver is definitely annoying, but he doesn’t deserve the treatment the Avengers give him, especially compared to his mass murderer sister.
1 Deadpool
Wade Wilson started out as a mercenary, mostly battling Cable and X-Force. However, Deadpool was always a lot better of a person than he let on and eventually got to become an anti-hero. Deadpool is a superhero fanboy and that can make him very hard to deal with. Wolverine and Spider-Man, Deadpool’s two favorites, have had to deal with Deadpool a lot more than anyone else, but the rest of the Avengers eventually learned just how annoying Deadpool can be.
Deadpool is like a child and children can be great. However, they can also get a little annoying. Deadpool doesn’t have a filter, so he will say whatever comes to mind right away. This has made it hard on his fellow Avengers. However, Deadpool has the skill and durability to make him an asset to the Avengers, which is why they put up with him.
Deadpool and a surprising number of other Marvel heroes possess many irritating qualities that rubbed the Avengers the wrong way. Read More
