The Marvel Cinematic Universe used to be at the apex of the world of Cinema at one time, especially thanks to the massive hit of the Avengers films. Since 2008’s Iron Man, fans were immediately drawn into the world created by several talented people, as it was evident they were planning something incredible. That said, things are different now but there is simply no place for racism. In fact, an industry insider was attacked for calling Marvel’s first Native-American hero by a very disturbing term.

The Avengers
The first major storyline culminated in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, as it brought an end to many stories and it was truly the perfect gift for fans, who have watched every single Marvel Cinematic movie since 2008. However, many fans feel that the MCU has fallen off quite a bit after Avengers: Endgame.
Kahhori
Marvel’s What If?…. made waves when it was released a couple of years ago, which is why fans are excited for its second season due to the sheer unpredictability of the show. Season two has already begun airing and so far, it got good reviews for the first episode.
“You will see that these two characters have striking similarities” … yes Grace, almost as if what happened to First Nations people during colonisation is STILL HAPPENING!
Shhh … nobody tell her. ?? pic.twitter.com/Xv7Vz7vSje
Holy shit. @GraceRandolph refers to Kahhori as “Tesseract Pocahontas” and then spends the rest of the segment debating whether we need Echo now as well. Fucking 8 white dudes on the Avengers main team but I guess 2 Native characters is too much?! https://t.co/8F0TiubixJ
An insider named Grace Randolph analysed the upcoming episode of the show, and gave special attention to Kahhori, Marvel’s first Native-American superhero, describing her as Tesseract Pocahontas. This didn’t sit well with fans as they bashed her brutally for her remarks.
The Marvels
The Marvels starring Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, and Teyonah Parris, was released on November 10th, 2023. Expectations for the film were virtually nonexistent as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is suffering from major apathy due to its reliance on the same old formula for every single movie.
Unsurprisingly, the film didn’t do well critically or commercially. According to Forbes, the film made the record for the lowest-grossing domestic weekend opening for any Marvel film, grossing just $47 million domestically. It also has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 62% and IMDB of 6/10, making it just above average at best.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie received a 78-80% drop-off in its second weekend at the box office, making it the worst drop of any Hollywood superhero movie ever. It also ended up becoming the lowest-grossing Marvel movie of all time. Marvel has to go back to the drawing board and think of a new strategy for their next slew of movies if they want to capture fan attention again. Whether they end up doing that is a whole different conversation now.
