Toho International and Marvel Comics have announced the epic face-off between the legendary King of Monsters and the Marvel Universe’s strongest character. Godzilla Vs. Hulk #1, which hits comic book shelves this April, will arrive after the March debut of Godzilla Vs. Fantastic Four #1.
Toho unveiled the upcoming Godzilla Vs. Hulk #1’s release date and creative team on its official Godzilla Instagram account. Gerry Dugan will write the comic, which will feature art by Giuseppe Camuncoli. Godzilla Vs. Hulk and Godzilla Vs. Fantastic Four are the first of six Godzilla Vs. one-shots that will combine Godzilla’s lore with the Marvel mythos and see Marvel heroes, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, and Thor, face Godzilla in breathtaking battles. Each story will be set in different eras of Godzilla and Marvel Comics, paving the way for a new Godzilla and Marvel limited series this summer.

Following Marvel and Toho’s collaboration in 2023 that included a Godzilla variant cover program and reprints of the publisher’s original Godzilla comics, the companies announced in December 2024 that the famous Kaiju would make landfall in the Marvel Universe. Marvel Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski discussed the epic crossover, “We approached them initially for our reprints, but a while after those conversations, it was clear that both of our teams were excited to do more together,” he said.
Cebulski continued, “These crossovers started coming together over that time, in direct collaboration with Toho, and we felt the perfect time for them was for Godzilla’s 70th anniversary next year. We’ve been thrilled to work with them on these, and we hope this will be a sign for more exciting projects to come.”

Before Godzilla squares off against Bruce Banner, he will first confront Marvel’s First Family. Written by Ryan North and drawn by John Romita Jr, Godzilla Vs. Fantastic Four #1 will arrive on March 19, featuring Adam Kubert’s cover. Leinil Francis Yu, Mark Bagley, Nick Bradshaw, and Lee Garbet will provide variant covers.
Marvel’s description reads, “In Godzilla Vs. Fantastic Four #1, witness a threat never before seen as King Ghidorah descends upon the Earth with the Power Cosmic as Galactus’ newest herald!
