Several huge film and TV actors recently paid a visit to Wales where they were working on a new project, including at Dragon Studios, near Llanharan. The production Let’s Love saw Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games, Martin Freeman from Marvel’s Black Panther and Captain America, and Jess Weixler from the recent Netflix series about the Menendez brothers.
Weixler starred as a defence attorney in the Netflix series Monsters, and is also known for playing Dawn O’Keefe in the comedy horror film Teeth. She shared some pictures of the group of actors, who looked like they had a great time visiting a number of different locations.
Speaking about the visit on her recent Instagram post, Jess said: “Went to Wales and laughed so hard all day every day I still have a cramp. What a glorious adventure! All improv all the time. I adore these new friends with my whole heart.” For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter

She tagged several co-stars in the pictures, including Richard Elis, Malin Akerman, Josh Hutcherson, Chloe Jouannet, Dermot Mulroney, Martin Freeman, Lucy Turner and Lainya, adding at the end of her caption: “LET’S LOVE MOVIE.”
There is little information about the film, Let’s Love, although we do know that it is being made using pure improvisation, which some of the actors have shared on their social media. We also know it is a project by Welsh director Jamie Adams whose films, including Black Mountain Poets (2015) and Songbird (2018) regularly use his home country as the location.
The 44-year-old has also worked with Submarine and Bad Neighbours star Craig Roberts, Guardians of the Galaxy’s Laura Haddock and Call the Midwife actress Charlotte Ritchie on his previous projects Benny & Jolene and A Wonderful Christmas Time. He gained a Master of Arts in Film from Newport’s International Film School Wales in 2004 where he collaborated with Peter Greenaway and Ken Russell.
It seems that his latest film will also have some strong Welsh links, because although lots of the places the group of actors visited did not show any recognisable features, one image shared in the post showed that the team had visited Dragon Studios near Llanharan. In the pictures, the actors and actresses are seen enjoying several spots in the Welsh countryside, and a sandy beach, which looked like some idyllic potential filming spots.
Star of Watchmen, The Proposal, Rock of Ages and 27 Dresses, Malin Akerman also shared a picture over the weekend about how “gorgeous” our beautiful country is, showcasing a mysterious coastal location. Malin wrote on her Instagram: “The gorgeousness that is Wales ,” accompanied by a love heart and the picture shows the star in a classy white shirt and wide check navy trousers.
In another post about the film, Malin also shared several pictures of her and her cast mates, in different places, writing: “Just finished a whirlwind of a film in Wales with this crew! All improv! 6 day shoot! Couldn’t have done it without all the exceptional players, in front of and behind the camera.”
