Marvel Comics will celebrate Life Day this November with four variant covers of “Star Wars” comics.
Life Day is a winter holiday celebrated by the Wookiees of Kashyyyk in the “Star Wars” universe. It was introduced in the infamous 1978 “Star Wars Holiday Special.” The special’s original release date of November 17 has been dubbed Life Day and, in recent years, has been embraced and celebrated by fans and Disney.
The new Life Day variant covers are by artists Mike Del Mundo and Rod Reis and feature different characters celebrating the holiday, with nods to the “Star Wars Holiday Special.”
Han Solo and Chewbacca are featured on the Life Day Variant Cover by Mike Del Mundo for Star Wars #40, which will be on sale on November 1.
Coming on November 8 is Star Wars: Darth Vader #40, with a Life Day Variant Cover by Rod Reis featuring a young Anakin Skywalker celebrating with his mother Shmi.
Doctor Aphra and Krrsantan are on Rod Reis’ Life Day Variant Cover of Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #38, which will be available on November 15.
Lastly, Chef Gormaanda is featured on the Life Day Variant Cover by Rod Reis for Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #40, on sale on November 22.
The variant covers will be available at local comic book shops. Find and support your local comic book shop at ComicShopLocator.com.
Last year, Disney Parks celebrated Life Day with special merchandise and photo ops.
