The strongest aspect of Spider-Man that makes the hero be so loved by Marvel fans is that he is so relatable. Be it Peter Parker, Miles Morales, or another version from the wide Spider-Verse, all the different Spider-Men have had to deal with day-to-day issues like paying rent, doing well at school, or navigating the dating world. Adding to that, every Spider-Men has also faced heartbreaking loss, their very own Canon Event, which creates an emotional through line between the character and the audience.

All the movie iterations of Spider-Man have had their time to shine. Maguire began the hero’s movie legacy with an excellent trilogy, Garfield then succeeded him by being the best Spider-Man actor when the mask was on, with Holland bringing the Peter Parker from the Ultimate Comics to the MCU perfectly. By having high-profile live-action and animated films, with Miles Morales showing in the Spider-Verse films that everyone can become Spider-Man, the hero reaches a wide audience. It also helps the hero’s popularity that most Spider-Man movies have a high standard.

Spider-Man’s powers, with the hero being able to stick to walls, swing though buildings, and shoot webs at villains are all very exciting and have always looked amazing on the big screen, which has not been the case for other superheroes. The Spider-Man movies are also champions of the box office, with Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s reunion of the three live-action Spider-Men bringing in nearly $2 billion. Based on all those factors, it is clear to see why Spider-Man is the most popular movie superhero.
