Marvel’s notorious villain, Doctor Doom, is known for being the authoritarian ruler of the kingdom of Latveria and a regular nemesis to the Fantastic Four, but not often called to light is Victor Von Doom’s immense achievements in power or his pension for Christmas spirit. Doctor Doom has proven that he can use his power for good, and he’s even used his abilities to take over the Christmas duties of Santa Claus himself.

In the alternate universe of the story “I’ll Be Doom for Christmas” by Scott Lobdell, John Byrne, Daniel Vozzo, and Jade Moede from What The–?! , Doctor Doom takes up the Santa Claus mantle when Saint Nicholas is injured by one of Doom’s castle traps. Despite getting into a fight with the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, Santa Doom allies with his foes and delivers Christmas.

Doctor Doom may be a villain hellbent on conquest, but his goals are twisted into good intentions, and with a kingdom of loyal subjects and his rise to Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Doom is more than capable of handling Kris Kringles’ job in contemporary Marvel lore.

Doctor Doom Is a Surprising Ally to Santa Claus (and Now a Master of Magic)

If Doctor Doom Can Be Sorcerer Supreme, Why Not Santa Claus?

Similar to Marvel’s Santa Claus, a mysterious magical entity, Doctor Doom is a master of both science and mysticism and holds an intricate moral code that aligns surprisingly well with that of Saint Nick. Doctor Doom has done many dastardly deeds but, despite his many wrongdoings, he has claimed a spot on Santa’s Nice List, proving that underneath his egotistical mentality, Doom has a good heart. Doctor Doom may be a villain and a totalitarian ruler, but his main goals are to better the lives of his people and strive toward technological advances.

Doom has shown he has the power to wield such important magical and spirited abilities, especially when considering Doom is now the reigning Sorcerer Supreme.

Doctor Doom Has Power and Influence That Rivals Santa Claus

Doom HIs Highly Capable of Mystical Take-Overs

Should Doctor Doom truly take over the world, he would also take over the responsibilities of Santa Claus, and considering his core moral beliefs and passion for magic, if it came to it, Doom would do it.He’s already a powerful sorcerer with a long history that demonstrates he is capable of wielding magic, creating technological innovations, and ruling a kingdom. Now that Doctor Doom is Sorcerer Supreme and on his way to ruling the world, taking over Santa Claus’ job, though outlandish, may not be far behind, as he’s proven to have done so already in alternate timelines.
