Via Variety, Stan revealed that he was expected to start filming in a month, stating, “I’m excited. I’m going to go back basically in a month or so. I’ve missed it. It’s a great cast.” He also commented on Marvel’s recent hits and misses at the box office, continuing, “The batting average is so high that it’s difficult to always land everything right away. It’s always been a great experience. With this one in particular, I think there’s a lot of good things.”

Sebastian Stan to Play Young Donald Trump in The Apprentice Movie

Sebastian Stan, who played Tommy Lee in Pam & Tommy, will next play a wildly different celebrity with his casting as Donald Trump.

Stan’s MCU perspective follows The Marvels struggling to impress at the box office. The film notoriously failed to make back the cost of production before even considering marketing. A pattern appears to have been established, dating back to 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Following the film, the MCU has released Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the successful Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, and are expected to again return to success with the upcoming Deadpool 3, which recently saw Wolverine’s Hugh Jackman impress in a training video. After Deadpool, superhero movies look set to enter a new age, with Marvel’s conclusion of Phase 5 and the start of Phase 6 coinciding with the DCU’s seminal Superman Legacy.

As part of Phase 6, Thunderbolts looks to establish a new unit formed of misfits, including Stan’s Bucky Barnes. He stars alongside the rest of the Thunderbolts cast, including David Harbour (Red Guardian), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), Olga Kurylenko (Taskmaster), Harrison Ford (Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross), and Florence Pugh (Black Widow). While expected to appear as The Sentry, Steven Yeun has since dropped out of the film, with recent reports suggesting that his The Walking Dead co-star is lined up for the role.
