Earlier today, Kevin Feige provided a pretty big update on the upcoming shoot for Marvel’s Fantastic Four. While the project is expected to finally film next month, it’s still shrouded in secrecy. For example, even though we know Galactus will appear in the film we don’t know if he’s going to be main antagonist. Additionally, actors such as Paul Walter Hauser and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in mystery roles.

As if details from the film couldn’t get any more cryptic, a new rumor alleges that there’s a major character that will appear in the film that has yet to be disclosed.

According to industry insider Daniel RPK, Franklin Richards, the son of both Reed Richards and Sue Storm (Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman) will appear in the film. That’s not all.

RPK alleges that the character will actually be a part of the team in the film AND that he’ll be wearing a shirt donning the number “5”.

As always, because this info has not been confirmed by Marvel or any of the major trades, we urge you to take it with a grain of salt. However, considering Daniel’s track record we believe that it might be true.

For those who aren’t familiar with the character, he does have powers. In fact, he’s considered to be one of the most powerful young superheroes in the comics with his ability to warp realities. Not only does he go on to be a full fledged hero in the Marvel Comics, he eventually has a short stint on the X-Men – and goes on to marry the daughter of Jean Grey and Cyclops (from the Days of Future Past timeline), Rachel Summers. He is key player in the original comic Multiverse saga, so it does make sense that he would be shoehorned in to the franchise this way.

Would you be excited to see Franklin Richards appear in the MCU? Which actor do you think should play him? Sound off below!
