Marvel has announced that Spider-Man will face off against the Predator in an epic upcoming crossover series, as first revealed in a surprise advertisement at the end of the latest issue of Predator vs. Black Panther. Arriving in 2025, Predator vs. Spider-Man will pit the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man against pop culture’s most dangerous extraterrestrial hunters, as they continue their integration into Marvel lore.
Predator vs. Spider-Man – written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Marcelo Ferreira – follows on the heels of Predator vs. Wolverine and Predator vs. Black Pather, both miniseries also written by Percy, which have each, in their own way, put the Yautja up against Marvel’s most formidable fighters.
While Spider-Man isn’t the brutal brawler that Wolverine is, or an expert hand-to-hand combatant like Black Panther, he certainly ranks among Marvel’s most resourceful heroes – and facing the Predator will absolutely push Peter Parker to his limits.

Predator vs. Spider-Man is the third installment in a trilogy of miniseries based on the premise of bringing legendary Marvel heroes into conflict with the fearsome Yautja. Moreover, this has been part of a larger comic book renaissance for the Predator franchise, which has also involved well-received stand-alone stories which have drawn on the lore of the films, and introduced exciting new concepts to the Predator mythology. Now, Marvel’s fan-favorite Webslinger will be the next prey for the hunter-killer alien species.

Predator vs. Spider-Man.
Spider-Man is an exciting choice for the next entry in this series; the character offers a different fighting style, and overall dynamic, compared to the Yautja’s previous Marvel hero opponents, Wolverine and Black Panther. Though casual fans of Predator might think of them as vicious killers, the franchise – on screen, and in its multimedia franchises – has repeatedly stressed the tactical capabilities of Yautja hunters, and it is this aspect of their game that Spider-Man will put to the test in Predator vs. Spider-Man.
The Predator Franchise Has Fit Seamlessly Into Marvel Lore So Far

In the Yautja’s battles with Wolverine and Black Panther, it has quickly become evident how easily the iconic aliens from Predator could be transported into the Marvel Universe. While Marvel has also put the Avengers up against the Xenomorphs from Alien, that series was quickly established as an alternate continuity tale, these Predator vs. miniseries fit more naturally into the tapestry of Marvel’s mainstream canon – and if Predator vs. Black Panther was any indication, the Yautja’s presence in the Marvel Universe is only going to grow more prominent.

Up to this point, the Yautja have proven themselves to be impressive antagonists for Marvel’s toughest heroes; this alone justifies their integration into Marvel Comics, because if nothing else, heroes like Wolverine, Black Panther, and even Spider-Man need new, or at least unfamiliar antagonists to challenge them. Bringing the Predator franchise into the Marvel Universe might seem like pure spectacle at first, but it is actually a savvy absorption of existing material, which makes the Marvel Universe more complex – and more dangerous.

Few Marvel fans would argue that there was a better first hero to go up against the Yautja than Wolverine, and Predator vs. Wolverine more than proved why. The sprawling story used the character’s long history to play on the Yautja’s many trips to Earth in the past, as established in Predator lore, and of course, their repeated battles across time were a series of gloriously intense bloodlettings. Predator vs. Black Panther had a different style and pace, though the end result was equally exhilarating; likewise, readers can expect Predator vs. Spider-Man to continue tweaking and refining that formula.
Predator Introduces Its Smartest Yautja Yet, With a New Tactic That Breaks Franchise Rules
Predator introduced an all-new Yautja, one who has already proven to be the smartest member of his species, despite breaking one major franchise rule.
Spider-Man will test the Yautja in novel ways, just as they will push Spidey to the limit in a way only a select few of his adversaries have ever done before. Beyond that, readers should expect the Predator franchise to make a continued impact on the Marvel Universe; it wouldn’t be unrealistic for fans to suspect these miniseries are building toward an eventual epic crossover, nor would it be unexpected for the Xenomorphs to enter the mix in the Marvel Universe proper and face off against their perennial Predator enemies some time in the near future.
Spider-Man
Spider-Man is the name given to several individuals who have employed a spider-moniker throughout Marvel Comics. Typically gaining their powers through a bite from a radioactive spider, the different Spider-Man heroes employ super-strength, agility, and intellect while utilizing webbing to swing and tangle up their foes.
