The Spider-Noir TV show seemingly confirms the first major Marvel villain for Nicolas Cage’s new superhero series. One of Cage’s most beloved roles in recent years was his portrayal of Spider-Man Noir in the animated superhero movieSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, the iconic actor is now taking on that character in the world of live-action through the Spider-Noir TV show that is in the works at MGM+ and Prime Video.

With Spider-Noir currently filming in Los Angeles, California, Just Jared has released new set photos from Cage’s superhero series, which see the leading actor once again in his civilian wardrobe. However, the biggest takeaway from the set photos is the reveal of a Daily Bugle newspaper with a headline that name-drops none other than Marvel’s Silvermane.

What The New Spider-Noir Set Photos With Silvermane Mean For The Show

The productionhas so far only featured Cage in set photos and none of the other announced Spider-Noir cast members. In the latest set images, an unidentified actor can be seen behind Cage’s character as he is walking down the street. However, with these photos, it’s the prop that raises a lot of questions about the Spider-Noir TV show and the direction they may be going. The newspaper, which is the latest issue of The Daily Bugle in this story, has the headline “Silvermane Survives In Skivvies,” plastered on the front page.

First Look At Nicolas Cage As Spider-Man Noir Revealed In New Marvel Set Photos

With the live-action Spider-Man Noir TV show officially in production, new set photos from the upcoming Marvel drama show Nicolas Cage as the hero.

Introduced to the comics in 1969, Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, is a crime boss who becomes a cyborg after being attacked by Cloak and Dagger. He’s typically a Spider-Man villain, but has fought other heroes, including Daredevil. If Silvermane really is the main villain for Spider-Noir, it would fit the 1930s setting by having a dangerous mob boss as Cage’s first big bad – though it’s unclear if the show will adapt the cyborg aspect of the character. As filming continues on Cage’s Spider-Noir, additional set photos may reveal more details about what role Silvermane plays in the story.

Our Take On The Spider-Noir Silvermane Set Photos

While an actor has yet to be spotted as Silvermane in Spider-Noir, it is very possible that the character has already been cast. In July, Spider-Noir cast Brendan Gleeson for a key role that was being described as a villainous character. Given his age, Gleeson could very well be the actor who to play Silvermane in Spider-Noir, which will hopefully be confirmed sooner rather than later.
