Spider-Man has had no shortage of fellow web-slingers to interact with thanks to the infinite Spiderverse, and now he has a new potential protégé: Web-Head. This brand new ally of Spider-Man could be a breath of fresh air due to her innovative fighting style and her outlandish costume.

Spider-Man Unlimited #41 by Scott Aukerman and Federico Sabbatini, Spider-Man encounters a mysterious Spider-person who calls herself “Web-Head.” This new heroine drops in just time to show off her amazing, one-of-a-kind powers to her idol, Spider-Man. Web-Head, who wears a unique purple and black Spider-costume, has her own Spider-limbs that shoot out webs and dangerous spikes at her enemies.

Including her own Spidey sense and impressive acrobatics, Web-Head also uses her limbs to emit a hypnotic blast that renders these evil creatures completely defenseless.

As the Spiderverse grows even bigger with the addition of Web-Head, much needs to be said about her unique abilities.

While a promising debut for this new hero, these new abilities seem very extreme and Peter Parker is just the her to help Web-Head realize her full potential. Web-Head is an unproven newbie that Peter must train to become an even better hero. While Spider-Man has been more of a student than a teacher due to his attitude, this could be another huge step in Peter Parker’s development. Spider-Man has more than enough experience with team-ups and training alongside heroes.

If Peter Parker can focus his efforts on showing this rookie the ropes, he could pick up a few tricks like with his other Spider allies. As the Spiderverse grows even bigger with the addition of Web-Head, much needs to be said about her unique abilities. Spiderverse heroes usually come with their own brand of new abilities that Peter Parker never had as Spider-Man. Examples include Miles Morales’ camouflage cloak and his venom-strike paralysis. Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 comes with super hearing, fangs, and even telepathy through his Spider-sense.

Peter has been able to study and adapt his abilities to keep up with these Spider variants and he can teach Web-Head how to use their gifts to pacify and not critically injure their opponents. Because Web-Head, while seemingly an ally, still has been holding back some key info. The plot thickens in Spider-Man Unlimited #42, where Web-Head is revealed to be Lynda Locke, the woman Peter dated in issue #40 of Spider-Man Unlimited. Now that the fans know who she is, more questions need to be asked.

How Web-Head received her Spider-powers, how many more abilities she might hiding in that arsenal of theirs, and to what extent she can be trusted, are all questions raised in Spider-Man Unlimited Infinity Comic #42. This could be the start of a beautiful partnership, as Spider-Man is still struggling to find a balance with his personal and professional life. Since Lynda understands the struggle of keeping a secret identity, Peter can completely relate and sympathize with another fellow vigilante. A team-up with Web-Head could be a step in the right direction for Spider-Man, or a step into a deadly trap.
