Following Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Iron Man/Tony Stark making a selfless sacrifice and Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers passing on the Captain America mantle to Anthony Mackie’s Falcon/Sam Wilson, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is now preparing to confront even greater challenges.

Marvel President Kevin Feige is eager to shift the focus of the MCU towards a more “grounded” and “street-level” direction following the dismissal of Kang the Conqueror actor Jonathan Majors (known for Lovecraft Country).
Central to this strategy is Tom Holland’s involvement as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man 4, which will continue the storyline from Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). Additionally, Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil/Matt Murdock is expected to join the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in leading this street-level team.

And what is a hero without an equally powerful villain?

Some interesting news about Lilith, Mia Goth’s rumored villain in Blade, has surfaced. According to Hollywood and Marvel insider Alex Perez, she will likely be the big bad for the Midnight Sons and the upcoming “UK Avengers” team, which will likely be “supernatural-level” in nature and head an army of vampiric Daywalkers — on top of appearing alongside the much-anticipated villain Mephisto.
Responding to fellow scooper Daniel Richtman via Cosmic Marvel on X/Twitter, Perez tacked on more details about the upcoming Midnight Sons and Mahershala Ali-led Blade MCU project, adding that there might not just be a team-up in the Marvel Comics’ epic supernatural baddies Lilith and Mephisto, but also a versus “match-up”:
Perez: As long as we keep Lilith and get the Lilith vs Mephisto match-up we were promised, I’m sold.
(quoted) Cosmic Marvel: ‘BLADE’ will reportedly be set in modern day #MCU and will tie into a ‘MIDNIGHT SONS’ project.
Michael Green wrote the final script.

And what will Mia Goth’s Lilith reportedly be doing in that film? Perez states that she will “[command] an army of vampires” as well as been the individual to “originally [wield] the Ebony Blade” teased at the end of 2021’s Eternals movie, that Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman (Marvel Comics’ Black Knight) was tempted by and warned against by Alie’s Blade. This new information was shared in response to fellow scooper Jeff Sneider and John Rocha on The Hot Mic, on X/Twitter:
Perez: Lilith commands an army of vampires. Let’s not forget that bit.
Also, she originally wielded the Ebony Blade…but that was when it was set in the past. Now? Idk
Cosmic Marvel: ‘BLADE’ will reportedly start filming this Summer in Mexico.
The film is said to be “stripped down to Mahershala Ali killing vampires.”

Despite Goth having proved her ability to pull off absolutely terrifying roles in Pearl (2022) and Infinity Pool (2023), the star is currently in the midst of accusations of physical abuse from a MaXXXine (2024) co-star who has filed a lawsuit against Goth, claiming she had “intentionally kicked” him in the head with her boot between takes on set, and for “taunting” and “belittling” him for the injury after.
Whether Disney and Marvel, burned from the physical abuse allegations brought against the Multiverse Saga’s tentpole big bad actor Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror) will continue with Goth in this lead role is yet to be seen.
A24 and Ti West are tied to these allegations alongside Goth. If the aforementioned parties decide to fight it out in court, a legal battle is expected to occur sometime this year.
The vampire-filled superhero movie Blade, originally scheduled to premiere November 7, 2025 after an initial delay that has already taken place, may yet see more production woes in the near future.

The upcoming MCU Blade film led by director Yann Demange promises Mahershala Ali as Eric Brooks, AKA Blade. Joining him are John West Jr. as DEE, with Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, and Delroy Lindo in technically undisclosed roles.
This new Blade movie would likely establish the MCU variants of the Midnight Sons superhero team from the comic book world, with Kit Harington’s Ebony Blade-wielding Black Knight and Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight also set to take the stage.
Others likely to join this supernatural-level hero team are Sorceress Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata), set to debut in WandaVision sequel Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, Ghost Rider (rumored to be Nicolas Cage reprising his role), and potentially even Morbius the Living Vampire (Jared Leto in the Sony Spider-Man Universe, or SSU). The Marvel Comics also saw Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch in the MCU) join the team later.
