Right now, the Red Hulk is all the rage, but Marvel is getting ready to shift gears. Today, the team at Marvel Comics announced a brand-new Hulk is joining the Marvel Universe, and they are not what you might expect. Unlike Bruce Banner’s jolly green look, Marvel has crafted a devilish new Hulk for fans to love. So later this year, prepare to meet the one and only Hell Hulk.
That is right, yes. Marvel Comics is bringing Hell Hulk to life in Hellverine #6 in May 2025. The comic, which is being written by Benjamin Percy, will feature artist Raffaele Ienco at the helm. Below, you can see the full cover art detailing Hell Hulk’s debut, and there is no denying the character’s intense design.
Hell Hulk Will Trade Gamma Energy For Infernal Energy
As for how Hell Hulk will fit into the Marvel Universe, we have Wolverine’s son Akihiro to thank. Currently, Hellverine has all eyes on the boy as Akihiro was recently revived, giving him the chance to adopt a fiery persona that would make Ghost Rider jealous. All has been well in hell, but things will change for Akihiro when Hell Hulk makes himself know. The demonic Hulk finds himself on a rampage through the hells, and it falls to Akihiro to put out the fires.

Marvel Just Made Ghost Rider Even More Terrifying With One Gnarly Lore Change
Marvel’s newest Ghost Rider, the Hellverine, is part of a devilish plot unlike any other, as Mephisto has something cooking for the son of Wolverine.
Teasing Hell Hulk’s debut, Percy admitted the new character is a result of a secret program focused on infernal energy, and Hulk was a natural pick to play with as a writer. “Project Hellfire is a shadow program dedicated to studying and developing the science and technology of Hell. Their labs—located deep beneath the Pentagon, in a facility known as the Pentangle—have discovered something worrisome. All around the globe, in isolated pockets, people are being driven to murderous rage, a threat to themselves and others.
Hell Hulk Is Just The Start Of Hellverine’s Upcoming Surprises
The Marvel Universe Isn’t Ready For What’s Underneath The Surface
In Hellverine #6, the Marvel fandom will get a chance to see Hell Hulk at work, and the character will have a lasting impact on the comic. After all, Percy went on to tease the conspiracy concerning Hell Hulk and other characters on the horizon like him.
“An investigation reveals a common factor unites these cases: the presence of the Hell Hulk, a monster who gives off infectious waves of infernal power. A larger pattern is being uncovered, and only Hellverine can unpuzzle its meaning and put a stop to a demonic conspiracy that threatens the world,” the writer explained.

Now we’re bringing some more toys to play with in this hot sandbox, including the Hell Hulk, who has (no surprise) a BIG story to accompany his smashing debut.”
