Redemption is key to this new Avengers line-up from Marvel.

There are some familiar faces and one person in particular who might raise a few eyebrows in this new Marvel comic.

The next big team-up in the MCU will be seen in Thunderbolts* which is out next year

Writer Gerry Duggan bringing us a brand-new team with fan favourites and some left-field choices, including giving Ultron a chance at working on the side of good.

This comes from a new comic run for Avengers: West Coast, a series that has been around since the mid-80s.

The original comic created an Avengers team that would work on the west coast of the United States and tackle any enemies on the opposite side of the country.

The team returning – their last outing was in 2019 – and getting a new line-up.

This time around you’ll find Spider-Woman, Firestar, Blue Bolt, and surprisingly, Ultron, as your heroes.

However, this is very much an Ultron story as while we have a version of Ultron fighting for good, they will be going up against a new evil Ultron.

This is perhaps because writer Duggan is a massive fan of the Marvel legend.

Talking of the new run, Duggan said, “It’s a fun action story, but it’s also an Ultron tale —and one of my biggest Marvel swings yet.”

West Coast Avengers #1 is on sale 27 November 2024 and sees Ultron saving civilians after a terrorist attack.

It’s only when a woman mistakes Ultron for Iron Man in the rescue that Ultron comments, “I have recently changed my ways.”

Will the villain stay on the straight and narrow, though?

It’s no surprise Ultron is taking a place on the team, as this version of The Avengers was put together by Iron Man himself, with the help of War Machine.

How long the peace will last is anybody’s guess, but you can follow the story later this month.
