Spider-Man’s corner of the Marvel Universe is host to the gooey alien species known as the Klyntar — or more commonly referred to as symbiotes — with Venom and his various offspring being constant thorns in Spidey’s side that he can’t seem to shake. And in a new hyper-realistic cosplay featuring one of the deadliest symbiotes in comics, Scream steps into the real world in a truly terrifying way, complete with her wild, whipping hair, and all.

Creating and wearing outfits in the past that saw Grace step into the skins of other iconic symbiotes like Carnage and a Venomized Black Cat, Grace has also dressed as DC’s Poison Ivy, a Saiyan version of Bulma from Dragon Ball, Tinker Bell from Peter Pan, and even an inspired Xenomorph design from Alien, and never disappoints whenever she uploads a new homemade look.
Scream Comes To Vibrant Life in Hair-Raising Marvel Comics Cosplay Image
Cosplay Design by Grace McClung (@graciethecosplaylass)
Originally introduced in 1993’s Venom: Lethal Protector #4, by David Michelinie and Ron Lim, as one of the five symbiote samples the Life Foundation extracted from Venom, Scream is currently “deceased” in Marvel Comics, with her most current host being Andi Benton. Utilizing her trichokinesis abilities — or the power to manipulate her hair — to give Spider-Man and everyone around her a hard time, Scream also uses her follicles to strangle her foes and attack with whip-like precision, her sharp claw-like fingers and toothy grin further helping to strike fear into the hearts of everyone she comes into contact with.
In a series of images shot by @ssnwwc, Grace is first photographed reaching out toward viewers, her full-body yellow and red Scream suit nailing a symbiote design that takes into account Scream’s long locks as well as the sharp symbiote tendrils poking out from within them. Using a specific C4 Studio Scream collector’s statue as inspiration for her custom costume, Grace’s next few photos give fans an even better look at her design, with her body-length hair, taloned claws, spiked shoulders, and swirling color scheme doing justice to Scream’s unique visual appearance and deadly nature.
Furthermore, Grace’s decision to design her cosplay mid-transformation with the symbiote wrapping its alien matter around her face is the detail that makes this design stand out, completing an impossible comic-accurate look that needs to be seen to be believed. Scream is a Spider-Man character that doesn’t get much love in the cosplay space precisely because of what makes Grace McClung’s (@graciethecosplaylass) design so impressive — her perfect adaptation of the character’s unruly Klyntar-imbued tangle of hair — with Scream’s intense look successfully making the jump to live-action without losing anything in transition.
