Marvel Comics is swinging into a new chapter for its flagship series, Amazing Spider-Man, this April. Spearheaded by the creative dream team of writer Joe Kelly and legendary artists Pepe Larraz and John Romita Jr., the relaunch promises to deliver an unforgettable journey for everyone’s favorite web-slinger.
The debut issue will feature a range of variant covers by some of today’s most celebrated artists to mark this highly anticipated launch. Among these is a show-stopping piece by Eisner-nominated artist Simone Di Meo. Known for his dynamic compositions and vivid colors, Di Meo’s cover captures Spider-Man swinging effortlessly across New York City’s skyline, embodying both grace and energy. This marks Di Meo’s first Marvel work in nearly five years, following his acclaimed contributions to series like Champions and Immortal Hulk.
“This is my first Amazing Spider-Man cover!” Di Meo shared with palpable excitement. “That’s already a great honor, but to be able to do it for a new launch by three legendary creators who I’m also a BIG fan of is even better! I’m sure that Joe, Pepe, and John will do an incredible job on the series. I’ve been following all their work for many years, and they know how to weave the right webs—I can’t wait to read it!”
Fans of Di Meo have even more to look forward to as the artist prepares to unveil interiors for a yet-to-be-announced Marvel Comics series launching later this year. “I’m excited to be back working at Marvel,” Di Meo revealed. “Being able to work with some of the most iconic characters in the world fills me with pride and emotion! The project we are building together is truly a dream. It will be a little longer before I’m able to talk about it, but it is something that I hope the fans will appreciate. The team and I are doing our best to create something unique. It is a new artistic challenge for me, but I love to challenge myself!”
Collectors can look forward to variant covers by Ryan Stegman, Lee Bermejo, and a Hidden Gem cover by industry icon Gil Kane, further cementing this launch as one of the year’s most exciting events in comics.
