For weeks, Johnny Blaze has been on the trail of a mysterious and dangerous new entity: THE SPIRIT OF VIOLENCE! Born of an ancient curse from forgotten magiks, the Spirit of Violence feeds on fear, blood and death – and it’s got a bone to pick with GHOST RIDER!
Introduced all the way back in 1972’s Marvel Spotlight #5 by Gary Friedrich and Mike Ploog, the man who would become the Ghost Rider was born Johnathan Blaze. After losing his father at a young age, Johnny grew up idolizing his step-father and motorcycle daredevil extraordinaire, Crash Simpson. When Crash fell ill with an incurable cancer, Johnny made a deal with the devil Mephisto to save his life. This led to Johnny being bonded to the demonic Spirit of Vengeance known as Zarathos, giving rise to his career as the Ghost Rider.
Over the years, a variety of other Spirits of Vengeance and similar figures have been introduced, adding new layers to the overarching Ghost Rider mythos at every turn. Among the most prominent of these currently is Michael Badalino, aka Vengeance, who initially fought against the likes of the Ghost Rider before ultimately becoming one of Johnny Blaze’s greatest allies. While Michael was able to escape the grip of his demonic other half, Zala, this only caused the latter to embark upon a desperate search for its old host, all while trying to stave off its own withering state.

Marvel’s Premier Mutant Shapeshifter Just Got a Shocking Upgrade to Her Powers – And It Changes Everything
The most intriguing mutant shapeshifter of all time just discovered a whole new layer to her powers that makes her stronger than ever before.
The son of Wolverine, Akihiro was first glimpsed in a cameo appearance in 2006’s Wolverine: Origins #5 by Danile Way and Steve Dillon. It wasn’t for another six months that the character made his proper debut as Daken, although he was still not openly named at the time. In the years that followed, Daken served largely as a villain, bearing an unwavering hatred for his father and Wolverine’s fellow mutant heroes. Fortunately, the pair were ultimately able to overcome their differences, with Akihiro shedding his rage and embracing his adoptive family. Tragically, Akihiro would lose his life at the hands of Sabretooth and a band of Multiversal variants, only to be stitched back together and bonded to the demon Bagra-ghul, becoming the new Hellverine.
