[#item_full_content] [[{“value”:”Marvel Studios released the first teaser trailer for The Punisher: One Last Kill special, which will stream on Disney+ on May 12, 2026.
The teaser trailer depicts a bearded Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) sitting alone in an empty rundown flat, thinking about his murdered family when he seemingly witnesses an assault taking place inside his building. This is then spliced with scenes of Frank visiting his deceased daughter’s grave and memories of her when she was alive. Frank is also seen walking through the streets of New York incognito.
Frank is also seen being greeted by a young girl who will seemingly be the catalyst for his storyline in the Marvel Television Special. After his flat is seen being set ablaze, Frank seemingly goes on a rescue mission that involves murdering people who don’t appear to be connected to the events taking place in Daredevil: Born Again.
This seems to suggest that The Punisher: One Last Kill will be a standalone story that builds on the two seasons of The Punisher Netflix series. Even more so with Jason R. Moore reprising his role as Curtis Hoyle from the earlier series. This also raises the question of when the special takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline.

Since Frank is seen in the trailer with a beard and short hair, this seems to suggest that the special takes place sometime before the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. This would easily track with the fact that Frank was seen hiding in an abandoned bunker in the fourth episode of Season 1. He was also presented as bearded and dishevelled before cutting his hair and shaving for the Season 1 finale.
It is unknown if Frank will appear in the remaining four episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. The character was last seen getting captured by Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) specialised police force that has been usurping his symbol. Frank was also seen escaping Fisk’s custody in the mid-credits scene of the Season 1 finale, but his whereabouts have been unknown ever since. At best, it is confirmed he’ll be appearing in Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day later in 2026.
The Punisher: One Last Kill will debut on May 12, 2026, on Disney+. All seasons of The Punisher, Daredevil, and Daredevil: Born Again can also be streamed on Disney+.
