Marvel Studios has released a trailer and poster for Werewolf by Night in Color.

The trailer and artwork come after Marvel and Disney+ announced the colorized version of Werewolf by Night in September 2023. While the trailer initially begins in black-and-white, after the new title card appears, the footage shifts to color, allowing Marvel Cinematic Universe fans a glimpse at how the Disney+ special will look in color. “More terrifying. More gruesome. All in color,” promises the narration in the trailer. While the original black-and-white version of Werewolf by Night borrowed heavily from Universal’s classic monster movies, the new color edition feels straight out of a Hammer Horror movie.

Werewolf by Night was released on Disney+ in October 2022, as part of Phase 4 of the MCU.Set at Bloodstone Temple, the first Marvel Studios Special Presentation follows a secret cabal of monster hunters who are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic. Reviews for Werewolf by Night were overwhelmingly positive, with Gael García Bernal in particular receiving praise for his performance as the titular werewolf, Jack Russell.

While Marvel Studios hasn’t announced any follow-ups at this time for Werewolf by Night, Laura Donnelly, who portrayed Elsa Bloodstone in the special, previously stated that she is ready to return as the monster hunter. “Any opportunity to explore [a follow-up], I would leap at, and I would also love to explore that relationship between Elsa and Jack as well,” Donnelly said. “That’s just one that is just touched on and you see the beginning of something blossoming and we don’t know what that is. And I love working with Gael. I would be very, very happy to — just call me.”

Marvel Studios executive producer Brian Gay also revealed before Werewolf by Night premiered last year that the studio had already begun plotting out future stories featuring the Werewolf by Night cast. “I think one of the very cool things about the special is it’s just peeling back the corner of monsters in the MCU, right?” he said in September 2022. “And I think, well, we don’t know exactly where they’ll pop up next, the idea is that, with this wide swath of different species and types, they’re going to pop up again. You’re going to see these guys in different ways, of course.”

While nothing has been announced yet, some fans have expressed interest in seeing Jack, Elsa and Man-Thing star in a Midnight Suns feature film, alongside other supernatural/horror-tinged characters like Agatha Harkness, Blade, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider and Black Knight.
