Summary

Young Avengers project remains uncertain despite the presence of young Marvel heroes in various series and films. Xochitl Gomez and Kathryn Newton tease teaming up in the future. Fans continue to speculate on when the Young Avengers project will come together, eagerly awaiting further updates from Kevin Feige.

The question of a Young Avengers project has been addressed by two Marvel Cinematic Universe stars. The team of young Marvel heroes has been set up across both series and films, but has no confirmed project to assemble. Ever since Avengers: Endgame, the MCU’s Avengers movies have been absent, leaving a hole that the debut of characters who should form the Young Avengers have slowly tried to fill, but with no confirmed Young Avengers movie, that has been difficult.

On TikTok, America Chavez actress Xochitl Gomez shared a video of her and MCU Cassie Lang star Kathryn Newton addressing questions about when they will appear in a project together — the MCU’s Young Avengers team-up.

The short video sees the duo make fun of the fact that there is no set date for their characters to unite in the MCU. Gomez aptly captioned the video, “Hmmmm…idk? #kevinfeige,” keeping the mystery over the status of the MCU’s Young Avengers going.

Several characters who could be part of the MCU’s Young Avengers have begun joining the franchise during Phases 4 and 5. With the creation of Disney+, Marvel Studios has been allowed to expand its plans, and now that the studio has more time to introduce new characters, Marvel has been slowly preparing the MCU for both a new Avengers team and the debut of the Young Avengers. Now that Phase 4 is over and Phase 5 is underway, the MCU’s Young Avengers cast has mostly been revealed.

On the movie side, Gomez’s America Chavez debuted in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with the character being important to the Multiverse Saga, as America has the power to punch portals to different universes. Newton replaced Avengers: Endgame‘s Cassie Lang actress Emma Fuhrmann in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, with Cassie becoming a hero in the movie. Cassie’s run-in with Kang the Conqueror in Newton’s MCU debut should also make her important for the Multiverse Saga.

Several other MCU projects have introduced characters that could join the Young Avengers whenever the team comes together. WandaVision introduced the Scarlet Witch and Vision’s twins, Billy and Tommy, aka Wiccan and Speed; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier introduced Elijah Bradley, who should go by Patriot in the future; Hawkeye saw Hailee Steinfeld’s debut as Kate Bishop; Loki had Jack Veal play Kid Loki, Ms. Marvel introduced Iman Vellani’s energetic Kamala Khan, and other projects introduced or teased more possible members for the team. However, despite its compelling roster of candidates, the status of the MCU’s Young Avengers project remains unknown.
