Marvel Rivals is kicking off a festive celebration as Marvel Games and NetEase Games reveal a Spring Festival update for their popular team-based PvP shooter. Starting January 23, 2025, at 9 AM UTC, the event introduces a limited-time game mode, exclusive costumes, and special rewards for players to dive into.
Marvel Rivals is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam as a a free-to-play game.
Clash of Dancing Lions Brings Soccer-Inspired Chaos
At the heart of the Spring Festival is the Clash of Dancing Lions mode, a fast-paced 3v3 competition that fuses superhero action with soccer-style gameplay. Players will battle for ball control, leveraging their heroes’ abilities to score in designated zones. The mode takes place on a unique map, with victory going to the first team to achieve the target score.
Festival tasks will grant players access to a variety of themed items, including the limited-time Star-Lord: Lion’s Mane costume, a nameplate, a spray, and more exclusive collectibles.

The Spring Festival update introduces the Clashing Lions costume series, featuring:

Iron Fist: Lion’s Gaze
Black Widow: Lion’s Heartbeat
In addition, Marvel Rivals is commemorating the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with a special bundle arriving January 30. This bundle includes Spider-Man’s Advanced Suit 2.0, a nameplate, and a spray. The suit blends the scientific genius of Peter Parker and Otto Octavius, reflecting Spider-Man’s preparedness for his toughest challenges.
Gameplay Enhancements and Hero Balance Tweaks
Beyond the festivities, players can look forward to patch notes detailing hero balance adjustments to refine the gameplay experience.
