Now that their MCU debut is rapidly approaching, the Fantastic Four are receiving a relaunch from Marvel Comics with a new creative team that kicks off an epic time-traveling adventure. Marvel’s First Family has faced many perils over the years, and their next endeavor will see them facing off against dinosaurs in a story that any fan of the Fantastic Four shouldn’t miss.

Via The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Comics has announced Fantastic Four #1 by Ryan North and Humberto Ramos, which will be available in July 2025. North has been the writer behind the Fantastic Four’s exploits since 2022, and he’ll be sticking around for this bold new era in the team’s history. Ramos will be joining him as the series’ artist, and his eye-catching cover art showcases what readers can expect from the comic’s visuals.

The Fantastic Four will be traveling through time in search of the Forever Stone, while also dealing with Doctor Doom. Fantastic Four fans old and new can look forward to new tales starring these beloved heroes.

Marvel’s First Family Faces Dinosaurs, Doctor Doom, and More in New Series

Ryan North’s acclaimed Fantastic Four run is coming to an end with Fantastic Four #33 in June, but he’ll be continuing his time with the First Family in July’s Fantastic Four #1 alongside Humberto Ramos. It seems these heroes will be returning to their roots as adventurers as they travel through time to seek out the Forever Stone in different eras. Along the way, they’ll be encountering dinosaurs and other obstacles that they must work together to overcome. North shared his thoughts on these upcoming stories with The Hollywood Reporter:

But as much as this first story involves dinosaurs and time travel, it’s really about these four remarkable people and the depth of love they have for each other. People often think of the FF in terms of family, and they’re not wrong, but I think there’s something really beautiful about friendship too, and we get to see that with these characters. It’s high-concept science fiction with real emotion. What’s not to like?

Humberto Ramos also opened up about how it’s felt to take on one of the most iconic superhero teams in the Marvel Universe:

I’ve been lucky to illustrate many of the most iconic superheroes in the universe, but this book felt different from the start. The weight of history and legacy of these characters lay upon your shoulders, no matter who you are or how you’ve worked in this industry.

The Fantastic Four are indeed vital to comic history, hence their status as the “First Family”, since they paved the way for Marvel’s heroes. Currently, however, they find themselves in a tricky position as a result of Doctor Doom’s global takeover. This series inspires hope that they’ll be back in action before long, much to fans’ relief. In fact, the timing of this relaunch for the Fantastic Four couldn’t be better, as it coincides with the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps this July.
