Marvel just released an eight-and-a-half-hour-long video and the truly surprising thing is that it has nothing to do with chairs. No, instead this latest video is around eight hours and thirty minutes of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine breathing with accompanying music. The caption reads “April is National Stress Awareness Month, so breathe deep and feel your adamantium bones melt away. Watch Deadpool & Wolverine on @disneyplus.”

If you fast-forward it all the way to the end you get a little surprise, but don’t get too excited. It’s not a spoiler for an upcoming Marvel movie or a cameo by Ryan Reynolds – you just get yourself a little scare courtesy of Wolverine.

Considering “Deadpool & Wolverine” made over $1.3 billion worldwide, you would think Marvel wouldn’t need a video longer than most work shifts to promote it streaming, but here we are. Between this and the five-hour chair video made to announce the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday,” it’s beginning to feel like someone over at Marvel begins every brainstorming session with, “So what if we made an unreasonably long video…”
Speaking of the chair video, Hugh Jackman’s name was one of the few that didn’t show up on the chairs announcing the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday,” which was particularly surprising considering all of the OG Fox X-Men names that did show up in the announcement. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn have all been cast in the film, but along with Jackman’s name, there was no Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Famke Janssen, Shawn Ashmore, or Aaron Stanford.
Even if somehow Jackman doesn’t make it into “Avengers: Doomsday” or “Avengers: Secret Wars,” you can hardly say he hasn’t made his mark as Wolverine. Few, if any, actors can boast having played the same superhero in as many major motion pictures as Hugh Jackman has played Wolverine. He’s played the amnesiac mutant in six “X-Men” films, three solo films, and at least one “Deadpool” movie (two if you count the footage slapped onto the end of “Deadpool 2”). But while some of those movies felt longer than others, none of them were eight-and-a-half-hour videos of Hugh Jackman breathing to music. No, he had to wait until now for that one.
