Warning: Contains SPOILERS for the Iron Man (2024) series.With Doctor Doom’s global rule slowly approaching, many of Earth’s heroes, like Iron Man, are bracing for the inevitably violent impact. While most of the world is unsure of how to deal with Doom, as the traditional villain hasn’t done anything traditionally evil so far, Tony Stark is choosing to go on the offensive. After losing his company, his legacy, and his wife, Iron Man has nothing left to lose.

As reported by GamesRadar, Iron Man #6, which features Iron Man’s official tie-in into One World Under Doom, will “turn his legacy on its head for a story that will shatter Iron Man’s status quo.”

While Tony Stark has long since renounced his involvement in the weapons manufacturing business, Star Unlimited, previously run by Arno Stark and Feilong, resumed manufacturing in Tony’s absence. Now, it looks like Stark’s digging up some old weapons and a new militant suit to
take the fight directly to Doom

Early next year, Marvel Comics will officially kick off the One World Under Doom event. Readers have already seen Doom’s influence as the new Sorcerer Supreme in titles like Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, and Storm; in 2025, it will be Iron Man’s turn to take on the iron-clad Sorcerer Supreme himself. Frankly, Tony isn’t doing well right now. He’s only just reclaimed his company from one hostile takeover and is now facing another, this time taking away his suits and strength with it. He’s physically frail and mentally weakened right now, pushed to the brink of fading away into nothing, but a new spark of rage has been lit underneath him.

Tony Stark is tired of being pushed around and tired of being left behind. There may be a day when he feels ready to wear the Iron Man armor one last time, but that won’t be when his legacy gets sold out to A.I.M. or Roxxon. He’s out on his own this time, piece by piece dismantling his corporate enemies’ resources until they’re brought to their knees alongside him. Now, with Doom becoming a global threat disguised as its peacekeeper, the Sorcerer Supreme will be facing a newer angrier version of Iron Man than he’s ever faced before.

From what can be seen in the cover art of Iron Man #6, Tony has taken a new approach to take Stark Unlimited out of the weapons industry. While the company’s board works to sell Stark Unlimited and its weaponry, Tony Stark has decided to deliver the current arsenal straight to Doctor Doom instead. It also looks like Stark has made some modifications to his steampunk Iron Man armor, now resembling Justine Hammer’s magically-infused
Iron Monger armor
. Somewhere along the way, Iron Man probably defeats Hammer and adapts it to his current suit, bolstering his defenses against the Sorcerer Supreme.

This is new era for Tony Stark He’s angry and broken, forced to face his life’s consistent mistakes and failures. Despite wanting to turn away from the weapons industry, especially after the disastrous creation of the Stark Sentinels, he’s embracing what his company’s known for when faced with Doctor Doom. The man of science is also embracing a new field of knowledge, admitting that no invention alone can defeat the mystic arts. When backed into a corner with nothing left to lose, Tony Stark is rebranding himself and the Iron Man with lethal results.
