Marvel has given fans a sneak peek of G.O.D.S. #2 ahead of its release on Nov. 8.
Marvel revealed all three covers of the issue, with main cover art by Mateus Manhanini and variants from Alan Quah and Mike Del Mundo. The publisher also gave fans a preview of the interior pages to give readers a glimpse of what to expect next in the issue. G.O.D.S., written by Jonathan Hickman, re-invents the cosmology of the Marvel Universe, featuring Doctor Strange and the introduction of “The-Powers-That-Be and ‘The-Natural-Order-of-Things” — two conflicting groups of mystics and scientists that form a pantheon of the cosmic entities in the Marvel universe.

How G.O.D.S is Transforming Marvel’s Cosmology
The first issue of G.O.D.S. saw the character of Wyn (the sole Avatar of The-Powers-That-Be) partnering with the opposing 100 brilliant minds of The-Natural-Order-Of-Things in an effort to stop a reality-shattering Babylon Event. The second issue finds Wyn teaming up with none other than Doctor Strange and Clea to locate Cubisk Core, a Proto-Mage long believed to be dead and the culprit behind the thwarted Babylon Event. G.O.D.S. #2 also features Mia the Magical Girl, a mystic in the making, as she gets recruited by Wyn’s ex-wife Aiko Maki.

Over the last ten years, Hickman has worked on transforming the worlds of The Fantastic Four, the Avengers and X-Men, and he’s now working with the artist behind some of Marvel’s modern epic tales including Empyre, Valerio Schiti, to create the chaos and beauty that lies at the intersection of Marvel’s science and magic in this new series. Marvel calls G.O.D.S. a “once-in-a-generation” title that sees Marvel’s pantheon of cosmic characters torn down and built back up with “fantastic new purposes”. “We don’t get a lot of opportunities to try out brand-new properties in the current market,” Hickman said during a first look at G.O.D.S. “And I think that this represents not just a solid effort by the company, but a real swinging for the fence by Valerio, Marte [Gracia], and I, and everybody involved in the production of the book, to really put something new out there.”
