Marvel Comics is reviving its iconic Marvel Knights imprint with a new six-issue series, Marvel Knights: The World to Come, launching in June. The project brings together two industry veterans, former Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada and acclaimed writer Christopher Priest, who aim to reshape the Marvel Universe with their latest storyline.

The series, nearly completed ahead of its release, begins in Wakanda, where major developments involving T’Challa, Storm, Shuri, and others set the stage for a global shift. With the Black Panther dead, Wakanda’s resources, technology, and secrets remain exposed, triggering worldwide conflicts among heroes, villains, and mutants. A tribal contest determines Wakanda’s new ruler, marking the dawn of a transformed Marvel Universe.

Marvel Knights: The World to Come #1 is set to be released on June 4, featuring a story by Quesada and Priest, with Priest handling the script and Quesada providing both artwork and a wraparound cover. Colors are done by Richard Isanove.

Quesada reflected on the legacy of Marvel Knights, recalling its 1998 debut with titles such as Daredevil, The Punisher, Inhumans, and Black Panther. He noted the imprint’s edgy storytelling and the significant impact it had on Marvel Comics. The new series, he said, stems from an idea Priest first pitched in 2017, inspired by his previous work on Black Panther under the Marvel Knights banner.

Executive Editor Nick Lowe emphasized the long development process behind the series and expressed excitement about its upcoming release. “Joe is finishing the last page of issue #5 this week, and I can’t wait for fans to experience what they’ve created.”

The first issue’s cover and a preview of interior artwork featuring Isanove’s colors have been released. Fans can preorder the series at local comic book stores or access it digitally through the Marvel Unlimited app. More updates on Marvel Knights: The World to Come are expected in the coming months.
