Doctor Doom’s rise to power in the Marvel Universe is set to have terrible consequences for The Fantastic Four. Marvel is teasing that the team will be no more when an un-survivable confrontation breaks out this June.
Ryan North and R.B. Silva’s One World Under Doom #1 hit comic book shops last month, officially launching Marvel’s newest crossover event as the supervillain unleashes his wrath on the entire universe. With Doctor Doom taking over Earth as the new Sorcerer Supreme, Earth’s heroes are banding together to put a stop to him, but his reign of terror is setill set to impact virtually all Marvel titles in the upcoming months. As Doctor Doom’s archenemies, the members of The Fantastic Four are some of the top heroes leading the charge against Doom — and it’s all about to backfire.

In Fantastic Four #33, Marvel’s First Family will be reduced to nothing, with even the cover art for the issue changing its title to read “Fantastic Zero”. Marvel teases the issue as a “major turning point in Ryan North and Cory Smith’s current run as they steer the series into a bold new direction.” Fantastic Four #33 goes on sale June 25.

The Fantastic Four’s Suffering Continues in One World Under Doom
In January, Marvel began teasing ways that Doctor Doom would torment The Fantastic Four after his rise to power. Arriving April 30, Fantastic Four #31 sees the superhero family down to just two remaining members. They’re also not the only heroes suffering tragic losses in the fight against Doom, with even the Avengers battling him and being humbled by his power in Avengers #25.

Doom’s rise to power began last year during Marvel’s Blood Hunt, with Doctor Strange transferring the wicked supervillain the powers of the Sorcerer Supreme. Now, Doom is ready to take over the world, launching a huge publishing initiative for Marvel that includes tie-ins across series like Avengers, Iron Man, and Red-Hulk as well as limited series exploring Doom’s influence: Doom Academy, Doom’s Division, Doctor Strange of Asgard, Superior Avengers and Runaways.
