The following contains major spoilers for Power Man: Timeless #2, on sale now from Marvel Comics.
Marvel’s most powerful hero just made its darkest villain scarier than ever before.
Following an explosive battle with the cosmic villain known as Aeon the Knife, the titular hero of Power Man: Timeless #2 is finally given a chance to reunite with the enigmatic woman known as Eversight, or more simply Ever, whose sudden appearance not long ago kicked off his latest adventure. Although Ever is openly disdainful of both Aeon the Knife and Power Man alike, she is at least willing to hear the latter out and ask everything she could ever want to know about human life. And while Luke Cage is more than happy to answer whatever questions Ever might have, the Void lurking inside him is disturbingly gleeful when the subject of the hero’s long-lost family comes up in conversation.

The Void is easily counted among the most powerful and terrifying forces in the entire Marvel Universe. First glimpsed in the pages of 2000 Sentry #1 by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee, the Void is an entity of pure darkness that has existed for no less than several thousand years. When Robert Reynolds became the Sentry, the Void bonded to him, although it wouldn’t make its presence known for several years into Bob’s superhero career. When the truth behind the Void was discovered, the Sentry joined forces with Reed Richards and Doctor Strange to erase the entire world’s memories of him altogether, effectively depowering the Void and sealing it away until Bob reemerged years later.
The version of Luke Cage, aka Power Man, at the heart of Power Man: Timeless was introduced in 2023’s Timeless #1 by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Juan Cabal. Following the dreaded White Sky Event that nearly wiped out the entire world’s heroes, Luke was one of the few left standing. In the years that followed, Luke stole away the powers of the Iron Fist, infected himself with the Hulk’s irradiated blood, and even managed to claim the powers of both the Sentry and the Void. After one final confrontation with his old friend Danny Rand, who was under the influence of Khonshu, Power Man was ripped away through space and time to places then unknown.

A Forgotten Marvel Hero Has an Important New Role in the Marvel Universe
One of the most underrated Avengers of all time has just been given a whole new role to play, and it could bridge the gap between two worlds.
Luke Cage eventually ended up in the primary Marvel Universe, or reality of Earth-616, where he wandered through the cosmos before coming into contact with Eversight. While little is known about Ever herself, her debut heralded that of a literal Celestial Heart, which was destroyed by the near-unstoppable Aeon the Knife in a moment of wanton cruelty. Since then, Luke has continued uncovering entirely new sides to the story at hand, even if the details surrounding where Ever and Aeon come from or what exactly they want have yet to be fully explained.
