Hey all you superhero fans out there, Vancouver-based game studio Kabam is presenting the livestreamed Marvel Contest of Champions Battlerealm Brawl at the Gaming Stadium in Richmond. Besides on site events, the top eight players win a trip to the live event to compete in the single-elimination tournament bracket.

There is even a custom Vancouver cover image for the event, complete with leaping orca, seaplane and the Lions Gate Bridge.

That’s Hulk-sized important in the Contest of Champions Battlerealm Brawl, where teams of heroes and villains assemble to see who will emerge supreme at the game’s end. Kabam’s Marvel Contest of Champions features a roster of over 250 characters, making it the largest of any Marvel fighting games. That’s a lot of choice to combine in the contest. Who is your bet on?

On Oct. 20, quarterfinals start at 10 a.m. There is a Player Summit at Kabam HQ that afternoon at 4:30 p.m. where you can mix-and-mingle with game developers, check out hands-on gameplay with the new Indigenous Chee’ilth character. This is the first First Nations character in the Marvel Universe and an origin comic is available to get caught up on this characters skill set and assets.

On Oct. 21, the semi finals and finals kickoff at 11 a.m.

Given 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of this popular game, Kabam has overhauled original launch characters, adding new abilities, sheen and animations. This is Kabam’s first live event of this kind a real draw for the e-sports and gaming community.
