Marvel chose a clever and particularly torturous way to reveal the cast of the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday.” Marvel started a livestream across social media focusing on the back of a chair with Chris Hemsworth’s name. After about 10 minutes, the camera moved to reveal another chair with Vanessa Kirby’s name, and so on.
The full cast at final tally was Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Wyatt Russell.

There is still very little known about the plot of “Avengers: Doomsday.” It will presumably feature Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, though the nature of that casting still leaves a lot of questions. Will we never see Doom’s face? Is this version of Doctor Doom meant to be a variant of Tony Stark from another reality?

From hints around the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Avengers: Doomsday” will likely have something to do with Incursions: cataclysmic events in which two universes collide and destroy one another.
“Avengers: Doomsday” releases in theaters May 1, 2026. The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Filming of the sequel is currently underway in London. Filming will be back-to-back for “Avengers: Doomsday” and its follow-up “Avengers: Secret Wars” will be back-to-back.
